USS Seawolf SS-197 (Submarine)

USS Seawolf (SS-197), a Sargo-class submarine, was commissioned in 1939. It completed numerous successful war patrols during WWII, engaging Japanese shipping, providing ammunition to Corregidor, and achieving torpedo attacks. Tragically, the submarine was lost during its 15th war patrol in 1944, likely due to friendly fire. Seawolf's legacy is commemorated in Seawolf Park in Texas and in the video game "Silent Service."
