Synology DS923+ Overview and Quick Setup

Me first!! Looking good !! I heard 10gig so i'm in !!

For a long time I've been looking to pick one up, I'm kind of surprised that they went from a five-bay unit to a four-bay unit. Also the switch to an AMD processor had me a little bit surprised. Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of AMDs CPUs.

Good stuff! Been trying to get my contact over at Synology to send me one for a while now. Lol. Great video.

I would be interested in knowing how many cameras it will run "smoothly" being able to have up to 4 pcs running them for live view...also to remove internet access to do manual updates (vlan with no internet)

CAN U SET THIS UP AS ACTIVE DIRECTORY PRINT SERVER WITH A. DIR USERS N GROUP PRINT PERMISSIONS ? SO SOME PPL IN OFFICE CAN SOME CAN NOT PRINT TO THE PRINTER. THX

720p is pain

I have to say I'm so disappointed I bought the unit with 4 20 TB drivers. but Synology technical support is bad so I return it back to the store, but I have to say Synology lost a customer for life

I learned ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. You literally turned the unit on and just blah blah blah. I could have done this video in 90 secs.

Nice video. I'm a 40yr IT software/manager type. Low hardware experience. I want to know what I can get away with. Expecting to purchase a 923+. I really like the idea of putting SSD's in the server. Is that expensive? I have a lot of USB external drives -- assuming they can't be used -- right? I also have a number of older W10/11 laptops and assuming they can't be used either -- right? Thanks for anything you can suggest that will ease the pain and reduce the cost. Thanks!!

Hi, @willie howe What’s the maximum storage capacity for a single hard drive and the maximum capacity using all 4 bays? I’m planning on using it to store media content only.
