THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!! I have a 2019 RAV4 and I just did it today!!! I never really liked the doors opening once the car was placed in park. I was telling my husband there had to be a way that this could be modified. I just didn’t feel like looking in the manual at the time. Because we also have a 1999 Toyota RAV4, and time we put the key in the ignition and turn all of the doors automatically lock and I was thinking hey if this is a 1999 Toyota and it has this feature the 2019 should be able to do the same thing or have a better feature than the factory default of going into park and then all of the doors unlocking once again thank you so much for taking time out to make this video for people like me who didn’t feel like investigating the manual
ОтветитьThe first car I had that had this feature was a 2004 model I am glad it is a feature in many new cars today
ОтветитьHow closed doors helps in accident?
ОтветитьThis was so helpful thank you!!!
ОтветитьI wished Toyotas have a “walk away auto lock” feature like Hondas do. Do you know if it’s on certain models?
ОтветитьMy 2005 Camry locks when I turn on the ignition and stays locked until I unlocked the doors manually. No infotainment system is necessary. That’s really smart without the additional cost and waste of time.
ОтветитьI made this change in my ‘18 Tundra a couple of years ago. It’s a really good idea.
ОтветитьI don't have a Toyota and I am also unable to afford them, but this is a cool feature
ОтветитьIts also a good way to irritate your wife. Sitting at her work blissfully listening to music and playing on the phone. Haha she stood at the door for a minute before she realised I wasn't going to spot her, thats when she started pounding on the window...
ОтветитьWhat is this model and year exactly?
ОтветитьDude,
Nice
Very nice
Great tip... But here in the UK, its not available on my 2022 C-HR
ОтветитьMy 2014 nissan pathfinder base model has this feature..really find it handy
ОтветитьThank you. I just got a Toyota and am still learning all the features
ОтветитьThank you,. It so useful.
ОтветитьYou normally put it in P when ready to leave the vehicle anyway.
What’s the big deal? If you don’t intend to leave the vehicle - just lock it manually. Most of the time it’s useful
Nice video, liked very much. Subscribed.
2018 Camry LE - (no back up 'radar' on rear bumper; no shark fin on roof )
1 - car is locked, on remote press unlock button once (or twice) and wait 30 sec., car locks itself.
2 - car is unlocked (either just driver's door or all doors) press unlock button once (or twice) wait 30 sec. car locks itself.
However, unlocking the driver's door with key in keyhole and then walking away, car does - not - lock itself.
My '90 LS 400, (and '91 & '92 LS of a relative,) using the remote, had the same feature, it would lock itself after a few sec. and the same if the key was used in the key hole.
Not all new toyota has this lock/unlock from/to park option in tbe world . What you showed us is very helpful but i think it's only in North america. Did you know that every option added to a new Toyota for car dealers is an additional cost passed on to the customers. On my infotainment, the only option I have is to unlock all doors at once or only the passenger door when I press the unlock button on my remote control.
ОтветитьMy dad's 2013 RAV4 even has that feature. It's very neat!
ОтветитьThank you! That was most helpful. I will definitely update this on my wife's car.
ОтветитьI don’t understand why manufacturers think lack of security should be the default.😕
ОтветитьWhat year and model has the feature to change the auto door lock when shifting into Park and Reverse?
ОтветитьI have an older Lexus which doesnt have the screen . I never liked that feature I used tech stream to set it up so that when I unlock my doors it only unlocks the drivers door ( I am mostly alone) and also when I put my car into park only my drivers doors unlocks which I should change, normally you door will unlock when the door handle inside so no real point in having it auto unlock when I put the car in park lol
ОтветитьToronto, On, Canada. Brian THANK YOU for putting out video's and keeping them simple. I will be getting my Rav4 Limited any day. Due to stolen suv's and car jackings this is a really VALUABLE tool. Toronto a vehicle is stolen 54 times a day due to this simple, 2 minute process, these thiefs can copy key and steal it! A fella in the news here, has had bandits trying 9 times to get his, it is still in his driveway. The Club, Trimax boots for tires as well as electronic anti theft he had put in.
It is crazy the lengths I'm researching to put layers of theft protection ie, pouch for fob and other electronics on the car and then cameras and necessities in the driveway. And that will be several thousand more out of my pocket! Sure I have insurance but
not sure if the drama of owning this vehicle is worth the money its costing on the whole.
I'm seriously considering a different car thats not on the top 10 most wanted list.
Thank you SO MUCH!!!!!! I can't wait to change that auto-unlock setting. It's given me anxiety since I bought my car a year ago. You rock!!🙂👍🏾
ОтветитьYou must have the optional radio?
My LE was built 5/23/23 and has the latest standard radio with the menu button but doesn't bring me to where you say it should to change the door locks.
Toyota should make Auto Park Unlock = OFF as DEFAULT!!!! 👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьHi Brian, I have 2021 Toyota Highlander, and I would like to ask you for some help
My Alarm at car when off in garage last night when nobody is around the car and next morning when I walk to car wit smart key car doesn't unlock like before . If i hold handle fro 3 seconds unlock all door. I don't understand what is happen why is car doesn't recognize smart keys like before
Recently got my 4Runner, parked on your site. Thank you for all the information Brian.
ОтветитьGreat Video Brian!.
Do you have any suggestions how keep wireless android auto connected?
Thank you
I like your security vids
ОтветитьThank you!
ОтветитьI live in a small town. I'm always getting into the wrong car! Made me start locking my car to help others from being embarrassed getting into my car by accident.
ОтветитьThank you for this video.
ОтветитьHow passenger open the door outside... you need to turn auto-unlock to shift to park again? :D
ОтветитьSo happy to see this feature, I'm constantly locking my car doors when parked and still within vehicle. Thank you!
ОтветитьThis is very useful. Thanks for the video 🙏
ОтветитьThank You Almighty God I will buy some for myself
ОтветитьAn "unplanned viit" is hilarious! 😂
ОтветитьI just purchased a new Rav4 today. May need your assistance with all the set up features. Thanks for the video!
ОтветитьI hate when I’m driving but the door doesn’t lock
ОтветитьOk thank u
ОтветитьYou’re a good teacher. Thanks.
ОтветитьHi brain i have questions for you , i drive 2022 toyota Camry hybrid passenger back seat in locked in side to out side but it is okay out side to in side how to slove this issue
ОтветитьWhat year did Toyota implement this feature?
ОтветитьGood info!
ОтветитьIn my Toyota Corolla 2023 the doors do not lock automatically. Can this be corrected?
ОтветитьLet's say you have the doors stay locked when you put the car in Park. Then you get out and lock the doors, but when you come back to unlock the doors will the doors unlock as normal?
ОтветитьHow do I do it manually? On an older Toyota, in the owner guide book it says to “Shift the shift lever to P or N, and press and hold the driver's door lock switch”
Ответить
