ОтветитьYou go to the most touristy place in SF to get a clam chowder recipe?
ОтветитьSalt pork diced is better than bacon!
ОтветитьI just made this for my job and I love it. Very straight forward.
ОтветитьGood stuff
ОтветитьSo good. Thank you!
ОтветитьWhat kind of monster puts celery in their clam chowder??
ОтветитьAlways save chowder for rainy and/or cold days.
ОтветитьThank you Jason for this awesome recipe. I am an Elder at my local church on Long Island, so I make this chowder and visit the sick and “bless” them as I pray with them for healing. Thank you for blessing so many members from my church In Smithtown. PS: I add scallions at the end for color and garnish.
Ответитьi made this today and it is very delicious! I don’t need to go out and buy. Easy and we know what is in our soup.
ОтветитьYou can also use instant potatoes as a thickener
ОтветитьSorry, you don't remove potato eyes/lenticels?
ОтветитьYour clam chowder recipe is the best I've ever had..making it again today but this time I'll be doubling the recipe
ОтветитьYou’re saying that because you’re right in front of their shop, right? Actually it sucks, right?
ОтветитьLooks incredible. I would just have added some garlic cause why not lol 😊
ОтветитьThank you New England for calm chowder!!
ОтветитьNah! It's chowda, not chowder! Everything looked good, but don't add too much flour, real New England Clam Chowda has more of a milky consistency.
ОтветитьNO NO NO! You don't put bacon in traditional New England Clam Chowder! You can add a bit of crispy bacon bits on top as a garnishment, but I don't remember restaurants ever putting bacon IN the chowder itself! That is so quintessentially spoiler American, to ruin a great traditional recipe!
ОтветитьToday im cooking clam chowder with rock fish to meat it up a bit. Pieces of potatoes, clams, and chunky rock fish. Rock fish is mild so it will take on the clam chowder taste. Sometimes its just so darn hidden when you take a bite.😂
ОтветитьNostalgia and a nightmare at the same time 😂... I used to make 25 gallons of clam chowder twice a week all summer long for 7 years. Lived and worked on the Maine coast in kitchens my whole life. Still live on the coast just no longer working. 😅 We had the perfect setup back then in the early 2000s. Most of the restaurants were seasonal "and if isn't go find one that is" where we were located tourist central, the whole coast was and still is just loaded with restaurants and bars for the tourists mostly. So anyway we'd work from April to October and at the end of the season the U.S. department of labor would consider it a "lay off" so we would move down to Florida for the winter and collect unemployment benefits. You had to fill out a ticket every week and mail it back and put three jobs that you "searched for" 🤭... Another cool thing was making friends with all the lobstermen and fishermen that would bring in the fresh fish, scallops, mussels, clams oysters etc. Free seafood all the time and we all meet up on the weekends and stuff after work and party 🎉. Another thing to note is from April when we first opened for the season until the end of May we were pretty slow until memorial Day weekend that's when BOOM! And then Labor Day weekend right at the beginning at the beginning of September it slows write down instantly. But the thing about the fall is we get busloads and busloads mostly elderly people doing foliage tours checking out all the colors change on the trees. So that kept us a little busy in the fall. Well the point is so we were really only working balls to the wall for 5 months. 5-12 hour shifts. I have so many great stories. But that will conclude this one. Go enjoy some Chowdah!
ОтветитьSince you're in the Bay Area, I couldn't help but notice your hat, and hope your a Broncos' fan, or maybe even an alma mater like myself!
ОтветитьCooked it again. Great. Added a can of corn for color
ОтветитьCanned clams? WTF
ОтветитьGood recipe. I was glad your recipe had some volume to it. I used Cento clams and not sure if my taste buds are off but the clam flavor wasn't coming through so I added an 8 ounce bottle of clam juice...not sure if it's me but I'll have some more tomorrow. Great recipe. The best I've come across so far. Hope you're still out there cooking. I left a message on your Tiktok SMASHBURGER TACOS. Cheers!
ОтветитьGreat
ОтветитьThe place next door has thee worst chowder ever! The Asian place. Tasted like boiled flour.
ОтветитьNice job! Mine is done on the stove. Gonna make super clammy clam cakes to go with it
ОтветитьPs. A small peace of “salt cod” boiled down twice imho is a total game changer for NE clam or phish chowdaaaaaaaaaaah🤙🏽
ОтветитьExcuse me sir,but it’s pronounced “chowdaaaaaaaaah”😍
ОтветитьThank you for sharing this video and making it SO SIMPLE!! I'm so excited to make the recipe
ОтветитьThanks. I followed your recipe. My family loved it.
ОтветитьThis was great with whole milk.
ОтветитьHuge clam pieces
ОтветитьNever had chowder before. Made it for a gf who couldnt eat solid foods because she got her wisdom teeth pulled. Although we are no longer together, i still make this because its just that good!
ОтветитьThank you for sharing your delicious recipe!!👍👍
ОтветитьThank you for the recipe. I have made this many times following your recipe. Sometimes I use russett potatoes instead of red. I do peel those. And no, I waste potatoes cause I only want perfectly cubed pieces. Not sorry. Only one suffering is my wallet. My chickens like them
ОтветитьThis is a great recipe. I lean on it every time and it keeps getting better every time! Thank you for this recipe. The Tabasco definitely takes it up a notch!🤘🏼
ОтветитьYummy Yummy..Looks great. Real great work 🫠☮️☯️💖
ОтветитьI made this for my mom for mothers day because she loves clam chowder. It came out so well. Thanks for the recipe! Delicious
ОтветитьJealous it's been over 10 years since I've been to chowders in S.F time for a road trip
ОтветитьSo I guess there is enough salt in the clams. I’ll give it a try in the crockpot. Thanks
ОтветитьOooh i wish we had clam chowder more in Aus
ОтветитьHey! Gonna do this for when we break our fast today during Ramadan with beef grease. Thanks!
ОтветитьLove it but add white wine to mine so so good
ОтветитьI yes subscribe because you are funny and explain really goog!
ОтветитьThank you for this video. Subscribed.
ОтветитьI have always wanted to make a clam chowder but thought it would be a difficult soup to make. Man…. Was I wrong. So simple but damn….. this was delicious. My only mistake was I did not abuse all the rue so it was more like a soup than thick chowder. Will absolutely keep this recipe as my go to. THANK YOU from Utah
ОтветитьMade this and it was so tasty! Thanks for this amazing clam chowder!
ОтветитьI just tried this last Saturday and don't know why it took me so long to try it. This is my go to recipe from now on!! It was delicious, creamy and easy to make. Thanks so much for sharing this.
