Why captain qwark is in check lista.
ОтветитьJust bought a sealed ps2 purely so i can replay all these gems 💎 👌
ОтветитьI wonder if the Enemy in Size Matters Luna is meant as a outlet for grievences with Luna (the software that was being made for up your arsenal)
ОтветитьIn regards to Crunch:
There are two main types of people. Creatives who never feel like their work is finished and will go back to something over and over until they are forced to move on, and settlers who work within constraints and don't care about quality so much as getting things completed.
Most people who work on games or apps or anything code–based are creatives. If it were up to them alone, the game would take years to compete. And for a PS2 game, that's unacceptible.
You need management to curtail them and give them deadlines so that they fight their base urges to take their sweet time.
Crunch is sometimes a grind that forces programmers past their breaking point, but other times it is literally just a creative being forced to have a reasonable deadline––which they hate. Creatives don't like deadlines, they like to be creative. Hence the name.
When there are no deadlines, you end up with GTA6 taking a decade, or in the publishing world, G.R.R.M. taking decade to write the next Game of Thrones book when the first three came out in a five year period. Creative mindsets mean that fans suffer for a long time. Hopefully it means that the end result is beautiful and perfect, but that is no guarantee.
Crunch is necessary. But so is management to ensure non–toxic work environments and daunting overtime.
(And demanding that someone fix their broken code is not crunch. That is called accountability.)
"Never doing a video this long again."
ToD beats it by less than a minute. Crack in Time is up there too.
Robot ladies:
Let’s dominate !
-Ooh, sounds fun.😏
Robot ladies: And terminate !
-Oh, never mind. 😅
Just platinum’d Ratchet 3 and despite Up Your Arsenal being mostly combat based with no platforming and sense of exploration, the story absolutely delivers and is really strong, alongside the intense combat. Dr. Nefarious is also very well written, being comical, funny, and actually succeeding somewhat until Ratchet and the Q-Force finally catch up, while Qwark finally found his purpose in becoming the hero he wanted to be. This was a great retrospective and I applaud the developers for the sheer amount of time and dedication put into this game.
ОтветитьI wrote Insomniac around the time I played Going Commando with the idea of a character wielding dual blasters from R&C1. They wrote me back with a polite decline. Then I saw the first weapon of Deadlocked. Its unlikely, but I like to dream. I should frame that letter.
ОтветитьI loved this game as a kid
ОтветитьThere is no game in my life I've beaten ANYTHING CLOSE to 100 times
ОтветитьKind of surprised if I recall that nobody mentions Chairmen Drek, Ratchet saving the galaxy, and Quark being an escape convict. But I guess president furry Bill Clinton pardoned him, and Drek wasn't as big as he seemed
ОтветитьAm I missing something? Why don’t you have a Size Matters retrospective?
ОтветитьLoved up your arsenal way more then going commando
ОтветитьScorpio is French ? I played the french version and I never noticed even a hint of that.
I only use the infector on the last planet and the holoshield is really only useful in the arena to protect from the discoball.
Ratchet & clank 3 (sadly no slogan for french player) was the first game of the series that I played and I adored it, then I played the first and it was a rough transition but I loved it and played most of the other games.
Definitely catching on your retrospective late but they are amazing videos.
In the first cutscene in certain parts in the background there is like some faint incomprehensible talking likley either an error or an easter egg
ОтветитьThis game is my chilhood.🥲
ОтветитьI absolutely loved the Ratchet and Clank Trilogy, and to this day I always felt that Up Your Arsenal was the weakest entry. It just felt so rushed and unfinished. The visual style of the weapons wasn't as good as the first two games, and I felt the wave based combat was something they shouldn't have done as much. I absolutely hated the hud being orange, it was an eyesore.
Ответитьthere's a little game from 2002 that doesn't get enough love, it'd be EPIC if you made a video on Blinx the Timesweeper
ОтветитьJust finished the trilogy in 3 months this year on my PS2, I wish the OG soundtrack was more in this game but up your arsenal was beautiful
ОтветитьNostalgias high on this one for me.. I still remember Christmas morning opening our first ever PS2 console, silver slim edition, and along with it receiving DBZ sagas, Ford Racing 3, and Ratchet and Clank.. Up Your Arsenal 😍
Ответитьpeople asking why it was necessary to get that multiplayer are people who never got to experience the chaos of that split screen multiplayer with friends/siblings :D
ОтветитьI have such fond memories of playing this game with my friends on splitscreen multiplayer in to my late teens. One of our friend group had the multitap so we'd go to his and play well into the wee hours of the morning. Mine glove was such a dick weapon in the sewer level haha
ОтветитьI hated the vidcomics. Loved rac3 tho
Ответитьi rewatched that cortney gears cutscene like 100 times back in the day. the song was awesome
ОтветитьGreat through video!
ОтветитьI don't understand why people hate the multiplayer of this game. It was so much fun. I spent countless hours playing it.
ОтветитьHey man I love your videos and ratchet clank I have the disc of the ratchet clank collection woud I be better to but them digital while I can do get a better version I replay the trilogy ever few years 😅
ОтветитьRatchet and Clank 3 was the 2nd game I ever played as a kid and I loved it, as a teen I finally played R&C 2 and thought "wow, this is a million times better" and when I played 1 as an adult with the HD rereleases I thought "this is so freaking boring and drags on like crazy"
No point behind thia comment, I'm not analytical or in depth enough to look into it but thats what i felt and still feel at the tiime. all i can say is 3 was my first, 1 was my last and 2 will always be the best. people blame a lot on nostalgia but personal preference is what makes or breaks a game, R&C 3 just couldn't appeal to the gameplay styles of as many as 2
Lol I didnt mind the biobliterator transformation in the end, especially since I was a kid playing this. Felt badass af
ОтветитьThey have too make a new story line ❤ child hood memorias
Ответитьmassive you say?
ОтветитьR&C 1 was about capitalists controlling every aspect of human society and a capitalistic driven kid that wants to be rich and famous actually gets to meet his heroes and without realizing that he has actually surpassed them, R&C 2 is about providing a capitalistic structure to the fame Rachet acquired, R&C 3 is about how fame and capitalism have just become a tool to them as well as the absolute delusion of the people who are at the top end of capitalism which are insanely rich and powerful but also incredibly stupid. All three so far just seem like different takes on how capitalism affects society while taking a laid back comedic view much like the view to of our lumbax friend who never seems to find a place for himself in society whether he's a normal guy, a trained soldier, or a bonafide recognized hero. The only place he finds himself at home is with his best friend who is actually almost the opposite of him in every way, yet when they work together they accomplish unimaginable feats regardless of the systems in place around them
ОтветитьI don't want to be offensive. Mind what I say i'm sorry. One of the reasons why I like ratcheting clank is that ratchet versus quirk is kind of a short person versus a tall person, but the short person actually is a great worker and person vs a physically fit person that sucks
ОтветитьI don’t care what anyone says all the games were perfect
ОтветитьRatchet 2 and Deadlocked are the best two, you disagree you're wrong.
ОтветитьI always found this game to be the weakest in the original trilogy, (Deadlocked excluded). And I had no idea about the struggle and stress that the developers had to go through to release the game. My respect for the developers has increased tenfold, and I’ll try to appreciate the game more moving forward.
ОтветитьNice!!! My favorite weapon is also the rift inducer in all of Ratchet and Clank
ОтветитьGiven that nefarious is a fan of Clank and wants to recruit him, he might have specifically targeted Veldin just to draw in Ratchet and Clank.
ОтветитьJust got the notification that we're within a thousand of this video officially getting 1 million views!
ОтветитьAlmost 1M views! Go get 'em, ya goof!!
ОтветитьHere before 1 million
ОтветитьCongratulations on One Million Views. Here's to One Million and One. (After this one I will be watching Deadlocked till One Million too🎉 )
Ответить1 000 000 !!!
🦶🫁🤸♂️👣🫂🏺
And I thought having playing and finished the first 3 games 4-5 times was a lot. 100 is insane bro. Best game tho
