How much grinding does one have to do for the elusive high runes to drop? The highest I've ever seen drop is Fal... it blows my mind the amount of people walking around with enigmas and elite runeword zerkers and such. And I already feel like I play too much, haha.

I recently bought D2R. Game's still amazing since the OG release! Currently Act 5 Hell summon necro. No teleport yet, but I've been TP Stomping in key places (arcane sanc) lol.

must be frigging hacking or something. how does he get all perfect roll on these expensive item? that is perfect max def 15%ed archon plate on top of base max def for archon with max roll enigma. not just enigma but his other items are max roll or really close max roll too. this is downright impossible. he must be cheating or spending shiit tons of cash.

I just made my first Enigma the other day. I farmed/transmuted all the runes completely organically

I've avoided Enigma on purpose. I'm not sure every class should have the ability to teleport infinitely. I got lucky and found a +1 necro skills amulet with teleport charges, I think it's a nice balance having to use teleport sparingly. It's a useful tactical tool for minion repositioning, but not being able to just spam it keeps the game grounded. I actually have to use it as a skill, rather than a shortcut. Also allowed me to run Bramble armour, which in 2.4 seems to have had a nice boost on thorns with my minions and the bonus poison damage is huge with death's web. Still got the tactical teleport, but it's made running a hybrid summon/poison necro much more viable as I don't have 20 points in every synergy for poison nova. Not far off, but still 8 points short on synergies at level 99.

Teleport is mostly good for speed runs and telestomping?

I guess it makes sense if you're mostly speaking to people playing single player or Necros, but Engima is probably the most important item period in DIablo II, it totally changes the entire game by making WW Barbarians, Hammerdins, Fissure Druid/Werewolves, Bone/Poison/Summon Necros, WW Assasins, and more crazy builds to be able to PVP effectively. It also allows all of the other character types to be able to MF and rush other players, while without Enigma that would basically just be for the Sorc alone.

The enigma etheral plate is known for making your merc run faster with his consentration aura from his pride thresher.
thats right i have one of those , 3 total , one on necro one on barb and a ehtheal one for merc.
they are like 8 dollars premade :p

That with mana i didn’t knew how it works 100% i only know that its working on Physical Attacks but the mechanics itself..

Five of the traits of enigma are nearly or at the best any item gives for those traits. FRW, +skills on armor, +str, +mf and life after kill. The armor is bis even for most sorc builds. Actually six +defence.

Great runeword however, it has certainly been put on a pedestal I think. I enjoy cutting my way through anything I see. I don't rush to bosses and have no issue running around therefore, there are much better options for me. It has its uses of course however, I dare say it might be a little overrated.

I was so lucky over the last month to find both my first Jah and Ber runes, the Jah when I was doing the Hell Tal Rasha Tomb quest for my new Summon Necro, and the Ber while I was farming Hell Countess with my Bliz Sorc. I will definitely make the Enigma but in a Mage Plate.

You forgot to mention that ''% Damage taken goes to mana'' only applies when you receive physical damages. I've tested it.
