Have faith this to be a masterpiece and a game changer, the best movie of this poor, decaying decade so far!🤩🙏 because otherwise, the movie industry, the whole western culture is gonna die in horrible perverse pain of the gutless, brainless insanity and mediocrity.

As an ardent fan of Apocalypse Now and the Godfather I am really looking forward to watch this movie.

Something I noticed that was a bit funny:
There was another film that was in production hell: it was Terry Gillam’s adaptation of Don Quixote. They made a documentary of the making of that film. However, everything failed in the end and the film ended up being more of an explanation of how things went wrong. Instead of a Making-of film, it was released independently. The film is called Lost in La Mancha, released in 2002.
Then, in 2018, Terry finally finished and released his long awaited Don Quixote adaptation. The following year, a follow up documentary on the original 2002 documentary was released called He Dreams of Giants.
The reason why I bring this up is that, both the finished product, “The Man who killed Don Quixote” and this new movie, “Megalopolis” also star Adam Driver. Just thought it was a funny coincidence.

I hope this film succeeds critically and financially. It's Coppola we're talking about.

YES, I love FFC he is the Godfather. He believes in his vision and he is willing to bet the ranch on it. He is really living life not playing it safe. He is a junkie for the action. I hope there will be a documentary about the making of this film. FFC is right up there with Orson Wells he had to go his own way as well.

Whenever a director says they've been working on a film for decades, it usually bombs, they just want to make you feel bad about critizicing it. Look at Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon... It has been cooking in his mind for 30 years.

I don't care WHAT kind of crappy review this gets, I'm still going to see it on OPENING DAY.

As to points 6 & 5 I’m defending the master of cinema - loser wanna be’s in the ‘Virtual production’ design world wanted to spend his money doing a virtual design. He as director has his own vision & prefers ‘practical’ so these brats left because they couldn’t spend his money on their toys. Point 5 - executives in La la land have been raised on red bull & McDonalds just ask Jonathan Nolan Nolan’s little brother & another genius & I quote - Hollywood executives have such contempt for audiences so they spoon feed them mind numbing Marvel trash. & we are expected to take their opinions as gospel. Let’s get serious. No critic in the press ever made a film let alone something to be proud of . Coppola has made more sacrifices than Jesus H on rubber crutches so leave the genius alone. He’s earned his spot in greatness so many times it can’t be counted.

I am very much looking forward to Megalopolis. I've been tracking it from before the start of production and worried it wouldn't find a distributor. I hope it comes to North Carolina.!

There’s good money in poo-pooing Great Art.
Doesn’t change the fact that this is a consummate work from one of history’s greatest Masterful artists of cinema. I’ll be there in a theatre gathered with Great friends, as it was meant to be seen.

I have a feeling this film is going to fail despite its great casting. It's deep rooted in old themes and its Roman inspired art direction may not work well with a futuristic sci-fi setting.

I was sold when I heard the kindest of the Cannes reviews calling it (and I'm paraphrasing here) "the most batshit crazy" thing the reviewer has seen LOL😂👌I'm so tired of the production line, soulless, major franchise without any truly original ideas content that now saturates cinemas and streaming platforms. I'm truly excited for FFC's passion project and just hope I'll get to see it on the big screen here in NZ 🙏 🙏🙏

FFC has made flops before, looks like this is another one. “Sorry kids, I pissed away all your inheritance on a giant movie flop that everyone said not to do.” Kids should get power of attorney ASAP before it’s all gone.

If it achieves nothing else, i can at least say it has one of the best trailers I've ever seen for a film.

Huge fan and respect for Coppola. It’s insane to know that even though many (not all) his films are literal masterpieces, he always had trouble with budgets for the films. Studios should already know not to restrict and micromanage him! You know what he can do! I was actually shocked when I saw B’twixt, his horror passion project, and how…..low budget it was…I’m like, “dude! You’re a damn master filmmaker!! This feels like a student film from amateur filmmakers! And….not in a good way….”

This wasn't a passion project. It was a vanity project. More like MegaSLOPolis! This movie was dogshit. One of the worst films i've ever seen. Up there with Batman & Robin, Twilight, CATS, Battlefield Earth, Jack & Jill, The Room, Super Mario Bros (live action version), and The Emoji Movie.

Saw it last night. Megalopolis has more to do with the current political situation in the USA than most US-viewers realize.

A masterpiece like no other!!!
