Im not so sure how I felt about season 7, it doesn't feel like doctor who used to. Its still great though

He always ends up getting killed by monsters in Doctor Who.  He's probably the descendant of the inn keeper from Terror Of The Zygons.

Back when the Ice Warriors were one of the most terrifying and feared things in Science Fiction who could only come from another planet similar to that of hell.
And then there was Moffat.

The modern redesign of these things is one of the best in the series - keeps all the best aspects, removes the goofier ones (LEGO claws I'm looking at you) and perfectly evolves the design.

Ssssssuperb.

Angus Lennie also died by the hand of a Zygon in a Baker story and also appeared in the Great Escape. And he died in that too!

I love the original ice warrior story it's a shame that half of the episodes are missing and animated

I like these Ice Warriors far more than the New Who redesign.

The Rest Is Out There, Somewhere... We Just Need To Find It

I don’t know about the rest of u whovians but this in my opinion is not a very good story it’s overly long, the Ice Warriors look like crap, Jamie isn’t even in part 6 for some reason and the Doctor hardly makes an impact, the animation that accompanied the surviving parts look awful but this did technically lead to the much better Seeds of Death and this scene is actually pretty damn good

Probably one of my favourite death scenes in the entire franchise. Totally unnecessary and cements the Ice Warriors as the superior war-loving race in the series over the Sontarans imo. The Sontarans are clones of each other and, aside from Lynx, are more or less lacking individuality whereas Varga here is the driving personality of the story who is becoming more and more impatient and desperate about the hopelessness of his situation.

What he needs are scientists to give him materials for his ship so he and his crew can leave but instead, he is being offered help from a primitive local who knows nothing and his only bargaining chip is a fragile girl who also knows nothing and whose screams pierces ears almost as well as their sonic guns do.

TLDR; I believe that Varga and Zondal killing Stor is a move of frustration rather than bloodlust or conquest.

I actually prefer the Lego hand design

The original ice warriors were indeed scary for their time. And following episodes involving them also involved mega scary costumes and even more scary outfits for the officers. Its a shame that there hasn't been an episode bar one that has properly dealt with these beasts. the one and only Bernard breslaw of carry on fame was the first ice warrior

I like the New Who Ice Warriors more... I think these ones look kinda dumb.

Ice Warrior ASMR

The ice warriors scared the bejesus out of me as a small boy in 67 it was the voices,I really did hide behind our sofa.

Somewhere between lizards and Cybermen, the Ice Warriors scared me rigid in the 1960s. Had forgotten the sibilant voicessssssssss! Trying to remember - a Dalek death involved the person shaking and juddering; with Cybermen, the body would burn like magnesium; and the Ice Warriors zapped you and both things happened?

This one scene almost makes the 2 hour slog of The Ice Warriors worth watching…..actually no not rly

One thing I’ll say about Doctor Who at that time was the monsters’ Voices were quite terrifying Which made the monsters far more terrifying than they could look
