The alchemy-is-actually-terrifying bit while rewatching this series as an adult is so true - some parts are kinda Lovecraftian in retrospect! Even when I was young I knew that this and the 2003 version were dark, but I feel like some implications of the series hits harder as an adult (like how Al as a soul-bounded suit of armor sounds cool on the surface, but it's actually very Kafka-esque when thought deeper about what he and Ed go through - except unlike Kafka's Metamorphosis, the Elric brothers still find some positivity for themselves while going on coming-of-age journeys in order to get their bodies back.

As a massive fan of both, I have to say it’s better than one piece. Don’t give me wrong one piece is amazing. It’s my number two anime but Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood Is the best shonen anime ever made. The pacing is immaculate. The characters are undefeated. The character development is amazing. The plot is an absolute 10 out of 10 piece of perfection. The villains are so damn good and the worldbuilding is amazing. Not to mention that the comedy is perfectly written. It’s a little cringe, but it’s still amazing.

I came across this video about a week ago, just to have in the background. After the first minute or so, I was convinced that I've put off watching FMA Brotherhood for years, and maybe I should bookmark this video for later.

A week later, here I am... I've just competed it, and... I get it now. I understand why there's such a strong following for this series, why it drives people to drive its ranking up. It's an absolute masterpiece. Its presented in a way where I didn't find myself asking questions out loud, because despite how simple the problems were presented, the answers blow your mind. It was perfect. There were tears when bad stuff happened to characters both good and bad,

While Brotherhood is not my favorite of all time, I cannot argue that it is objectively, truly one of the greatest of all time. It was magnificent.

You have a weird read of FMA. It is definitely not the perfect balance ending. BUT, you're anime-only, so it makes sense. Imma assume you learned the truth of equivalent exchange since then - in this one video piece.

FMA is on top because it is the most univerally accessible/enjoyable anime. I think ANYONE could watch it and like it. No other anime has that kinda power.

Its never gonna be the best anime for me not even in my top 10 the story was so boring for me i took breaks between stopping it and sweaty fan boys telling me its good. Its not the story line moves like a fucking stickbug.
The only reason its regarded his is because retarted people from the time that the anime got big have nothing else to live for but tell people that one of the most mediocre anime is good

My top two is FMAB and Code Geass. I'm not a voting type of person, but I honestly understand those who cannot give high ponts after FMAB. This show is just perfect... when u find THE ONE, any other competitors are not just compete for a spot, they will automaticaally will be judged and compared with THE ONE. It is harder to pass.

I recommended FMAB to a buddy of mine who never watched anime in his life except Fruits Basket or whatever cuz his girlfriend watched it. I introduced him to FMAB and we binged it cuz he was that into it. Thing is though, he can’t watch any other anime because no other anime comes close to FMAB. It ruined other anime for him due to how good it is.

The one anime other than Berserk I could watch over. And over. And over again. Absolutely adore Full Metal Alchemist, but please, give some to Hiromu Arakawa, the author. Absolutely fucking fantastic and once in a life time story teller.
