how much better is the ventus 4080 super compared to a ventus 4070 ti super? im waiting for my 9800x3d to come in on back order and looking what graphics card to pair with it. any recommendations would help me in this process.

edit* I see you said to spend more on the GPU vs the CPU. I spent on the best cpu due to the games I play are CPU intensive, vs gpu intensive. also I should add in that money isnt necessarily the issue, its about having what I need and that is in stock and easily accessible. I can get a gigabyte 4080 super if they are good. I currently have a ventus 4060 with a 7700x and i havent had any issues with it, so thought id get a 4080, but saw that the 4070 ti super is 1/3 cheaper, so if they are comparable and cant tell much of a difference outside of testing then why not go for the 4070 ti super?

Opinions: so im gunna pre order a 9800x3d hopefully due end of the year and buy a 4070ti super, my plan is to get that so i can game just after xmas as my mother board is a xmas gift, and then upgrade to 5090 around march ish time and slap the 4070ts in another pc with a lower cpu and maybe sell that pc. I know the 9800x3d and 4070ts is a stupid combo but is this a good idea for the future proof n preparedness for the incoming 5090?

With the rate at which AAA studios are shuttering and underselling, I'm not entirely convinced that gamers have the money engage in an upgrade cycle, so NVIDIA sidelining gaming kind of makes sense. Poor performance right now isn't a call to upgrade but more of a call to refund, leave a negative review and/or call out developers for terrible optimization. The best thing the gaming industry can do for itself is to follow the Nintendo Switches playbook; stop dropping hundreds of millions on graphical fidelity and invest a portion of that on coders that know how to optimize.

The 7900 XT is at a really good price of 629-649 depending on where I look. Im debating if I should buy now or wait for the 8000 series gpus in January-February. I'm just not sure if they will release a 8900 XT variant and don't want to miss out on a good deal. What do yall think?

I built one of them, out of what i could find here in Denmark, since we dont have the same PC cases as you guys do in the US! :o)
But i went with a Ryzen 7600x , and using Thermalright Assassin Spirit 120 V2.

For some reason my CPU ramps up to 95 celcius degrees sometimes.
When gaming Battlefield 5 atm, im at around 85c.

Im kinda afraid that this high temp would harm my CPU.
Would it decrease if i change it to the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 you think, or am i fine playing with it as it is for the time being?

But it would be nice to know what games you play, and how high the CPU temp went.... :o)

Heh I just built a new rig that has a 9800X3D and a 4070 two weekends ago, thought I bought the card early last year. Upgraded from a i7-7700k, just moved the card over to the new machine, my 1st AMD build too. 1st gaming impressions are holy jebus this thing is amazing.

4070 for 400$ would be a good deal. Im expecting 5060ti=4070 for 400$ (maybe even more thank to Tumps Tariffs, Trumpflation).

There is never a good time to buy a GPU... you get one on black friday for some $ off that is the last gen, or you can get the bottom tier next gen for the same price as the high end you got on black friday and then see the price in a year at the next black friday sale and still feel like you got ripped off. Either way you will spend the same amount of money and always feel like you could have done better.

I lost hope about AMD, they gonna give us card 2% faster for the same price and of course between the two we gonna choose Nvidia.

I have an AMD4 rig built in 2020. Ryzen 7 3700XT/ RX 6600x/AsusTuf X550 motherboard/16GB RAM. Computer prices are going to go up. Do I A. Stay AM4 and get the Ryzen 7 5700X3d and upgrade the GPU to an RX7600XT? Or B. Buy a new 1440P rig. Thinking Ryzen 7 7700x/ RX7800Xt?? Games are WOW, ESO, Diablo 4/Immortal with photo editing like photoshop and Lightroom. What to do? Max Budget $1500, but dont want to spend it if possible.
