I knew that the Top 2 would come down to Aaron Gordon's "Over The Mascot & Under Both Legs" and Vince Carter's "Reverse 360 Windmill".
This was a win-win situation but personally, I will always go for VC's first dunk of the 2000 NBA Slam Dunk Contest as #1.
He came out and made a statement from the jump, letting every fellow dunk contestant, judge and person in the stadium know that it was NOT a contest.
NO SIR !!! It was HIS SHOW and HIS VICTORY MARCH and everyone there was a witness to it.
That Reverse 360 Windmill of his is such an iconic dunk that even professional dunkers struggle to do it well and look good doing it.
And even though they come close to replicating it aesthetically and mimicking VC's power, they can never get it completely right.
As unbelievably amazing and memorable AG's dunk is, pro dunkers had done it before him, just not over a huge mascot, so credit to AG for that.
With VC's dunk, NO ONE ELSE EVER did this dunk before him. NOT A SINGLE SOUL !!! Same with J Rich's "Eastbay Opposite Hand Dunk" in 2003.

This is how it should be: Gordon's effort deserves to be even above MJ's dunk. But VC is THE GREATEST. Gordon is the last Slam-Dunk KING (yep, we know he was robbed), but Vin Carter is the meaning of slam dunk, his whole career was a dunker life. This number 1 dunk: Vince Carter alone with the ball an the hoop, the man and the glory, pure magic.... =)

I never understood why that first Dunk was even relevant in DC's history? It was a very subpar Dunk with another guy passing the ball with a head Touch, which in my opinion is not that hard to do for any person without physical limitations.

Also, I don't think VC's is still the best one to this day. It was back then tho. But I agree it is for sure One of the most memorable ones, If not the most. For me number 1 is One foot in the FT line and between the legs. That is hard.. very hard. There's a reason why we don't see many of these.

Aaron Gordon under his legs is the GOAT and it's not even close.

Gordon is one of a kind with flair, zach is a re furnished version of jason richadson, Vince is the king of style
But jordan in my opinion is the king of air, the way he shifts his legs to give standing dunks that style is masterpiece, bending his legs while on air is something you don't see on a regular basis
