Have you thought about doing Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, Dinosaurs Attack, Dinosaucers, or Dino-Riders?
Ответитьkekw
ОтветитьEminem sent me here
ОтветитьGot here through an eminem text to speech meme, no regrets
ОтветитьDeepfake Eminem sent me here.
ОтветитьDagamant struck me as too much of an evolutionary disadvantage to ever be perpetuated.
ОтветитьLong form video definitely works for you
ОтветитьInterestingly enough, it's recently been hypothesized that Tyrannosaurus rex may have in fact had intelligence on par with baboons.
ОтветитьIf you like this then; Harry Harrison's Eden trilogy is sooo good by comparison. If you guys haven't checked it out, you should. It tickles the alternative history vein like no other.
ОтветитьAnd now a "scientific paper" is out praising T-Rex intelligence as well as saying T-Rex's may have uprooted trees and used them as spears. Me thinks someone read these novels.
ОтветитьIt could be seen that their quick advancement could also be that they were working towards a common goal and that would push forward scientific advancement
ОтветитьWhy does afsan remind me of Galileo?
ОтветитьThey can't fight the beast, the T-Rex
ОтветитьWhile I'm not quite as violent, but Dagamant was basically me. Apparently I have ALWAYS hated touch - my sister used to wind me up by constantly standing near me and touching me so that I'd be all grouchy when mom and dad decided "Time for a hug!" to babby me and of course, I'd scream or kick because I've had enough contact for one week.
I still remember being taken to a child psychologist over how much I /hated/ being touched and mom thought the first one was a quack because "He just has a developed sense of personal space and gets annoyed that others aren't respecting his boundaries".
I am not sure what I expected from a rationalists take on dinosaur aliens, but I guess I didn't expect an antisocial eugenicist society that needs multiple Kopernikus-equivalents yell at them to get the fuck off their moon which is currently pulling a very slow Ocarina of time. Story seems to have a weird combination of utter trainwreck qualities and that charm you get when a ludicrous premise isn't ashamed of itself.
ОтветитьFirst one - Galileo
Neat
Second one - Charles Darwin
Awesome!
Third one - Sigmund Freud
Motherfucker
Today I learned that i'm a very dagamant person like too much
ОтветитьI wanna make this into an animated series... paying homage to the source material as identically as possible.
ОтветитьThe Dinosaurs from Rick & Morty! :D
ОтветитьThis comment was made exactly a year after this video was released.
ОтветитьThe Quintaglios are in my basement
ОтветитьFangjaw sounds like a gorgonops
ОтветитьGreat work
ОтветитьNo problem with making them more human, but why the hell would a race with long reptiloid noses identify a round object in the sky as the shape of a face?
He kinda dropped the ball on that one.
Been on my "pull from bookshelf and re-read" for ages. Maybe this video will finally give me that kick. I loved those books back when they came out. Also, wonder if Sawyer ever kicked himself, seeing as he missed the determination that "nanotyrannus" is/was merely a juvenile T.Rex by a handful of years. Also, also, surprised you didn't mention (or did miss it?) that "quintaglio" means "five digits" (or five garlic, but let's not speak of that 😹)
ОтветитьThe one missed opportunities was dinosaurs driving cars.
Ответитьbad books tho
ОтветитьThanks for the video, put off watching for a little over a year but I finished all three books and had a great time. Glad to have them on my bookshelf.
ОтветитьOne of my favorite series. I really love the Watcher. I see them being an almost motherly figure for the species of the universe. She is a “god” but she is not all powerful. I honestly feel bad for her. She lost her beloved Jijaki and with them, her “hands” as said in the second book. She must be so lonely I just want to hug her 😭
ОтветитьI know i referenced this series somewhere (i dont know where now) which led me to look it up as i owned these as a kid in the 90s, being a kid who loved dinosaurs and micheal Crichton. Now i find it interesting as young me must have been really into the what if dinosaurs evoled ( also i did enjoy the suler mario bros. Movie way back when) and i think alot of religious stuff probably went over my head. The series def made an impression.
I enjoyed this long form as i am getting lotsa stuff done while listening. You have a good voice for narration. Keep up the good work!
It's intresting that they chose nanotyrannus of all things, especially now with it being invalid.
Ответитьdamn, how bleak is it that he opted to be a freelance writer instead of go into academia LMFAO. The worst part is that was so long ago and now it's even worse. I don't think I've met a single person in Academia that isn't dead broke constantly, this shit sucks
ОтветитьI'm not sure a live action adaptation would be On anybody's radar one inch shoe I would have is that I would want them to have more updated dinosaur information than what the series provides.
Like the qwintalglio Wouldn't look the way they described in the book. Not to mention nanotytannus Might not be a valid genus.
Would be a great movie trilogy if done correctly of course
ОтветитьGreat video. I've only read the first book in the series, so I should try and find the others. IIRC, the fact that Dybo and his siblings were spared the blood priest ritual was relatively common knowledge, at least among more educated Quintaglios. I had also thought the manipulation by the Larsk priests to have been going on for several generations by the point of Farseer. On his website, Sawyer mentions that the Larsk church in Farseer is very much an allegory of the medieval Catholic Church. You can see that with their suppression of the Lubalites and well as how religious Dybo's character comes across as. At the start of the novel, Afsan has no knowledge of the Lubalites and the first time he encounters imagery of them, they a framed as demons or enemies of Larsk.
ОтветитьI swear the watcher is the Q. Altering and playing with other living beings genetics 🧬
ОтветитьJust finished reading the trilogy, thanks for making this video I never would have heard of it otherwise
