Nowadays the FEMINISTS would never allow movies like this to be made without a FEMALE COP along side every man to help FEMINIZE everything. According to them MASCULINITY DEGRADES WOMEN.
I really feel sorry for young boys growing up today, the Feminists say they’re just teaching young boys to respect women; OH REALLY?
I think it’s more like teaching young boys to be SUBMISSIVE TO WOMEN.
Sinatra was a Man’s Man!
ОтветитьGoes from the most wooden acting performances ever recorded from the black ganstas in the first few minutes to a very good movie with excellent acting by others.
ОтветитьWhen a film you’ve never even heard of turns out to be this good, it makes you wonder how it went under the radar. They knew how to make damn good movies back then.
Ответить4stars.!!
ОтветитьI cannot think of anyone else who has had such a long and interesting life. Frank Sinatra excelled at everything he did: singing, acting and directing. Would that we could all say we had lived life to the full. Mr Sinatra certainly could.

ОтветитьThe 70s when they made cars That were big enough for a family of 4 to live in.
ОтветитьWhen cars still had "style." Oh I wish I still had my old 74 Mercury. Pretty much like the one Sinatra had in this. And that big black Lincoln was a work of art! The cars now have no distinction. They all look alike. I have to read the name on the car now to even tell what it is!
ОтветитьActing at its worst! A 6th rate movie.
ОтветитьReally loved this, everything about it. Sinatra is excellent, but the enormous 70's cars with loose suspensions stole the show.
ОтветитьGreat movie I remember this in NBC. Thanks for sharing. Just subscribed
ОтветитьI always like Sinatra as a NYC Police Detective, this movie is my least favorite. The acting was fine, NYC scenes great, it's the plot that's bad. Police don't do things this way. Assassinate made guys?? Sinatra killing Washington in cold blood in front of a bunch of witnesses? A cop, Harry Guardino, who turns into a psychotic killer? Sinatra going up against the Greek brothers, one armed with an automatic weapon, by himself? I don't think so. I think the reason we haven't heard too much about this movie is because it's a Turkey. I'd like to ask Sinatra some day, why the hell did you do this movie?
ОтветитьThere will never be another Humphrey Bogart or Francis Albert Sinatra. Real Legends.
Ответитьgreat film- thanks for posting!
just saw Frank in The Detective (1968) this was a great follow up movie

I was suprised to see frank sinatra in a made for tv 70's movie. You can never tell ..made for tv might be good..maybe later i will watch 70's movies i adore i was a tv junkie as a kid but was sensored by my mother! Now plenty of technology but the acting is so so ..ty for 70's movies on here.
ОтветитьI always thought Harry Guardino was the 'good guy' because he was Dirty Harry's Captain and played the good cop.........
ОтветитьThe wife wasn't wrong. I grew up in New York during this time. Every precinct had a racket. Most cops where on the take. Drugs outta one, stolen cars from another, prostitution. Not only running on the side but running protection for organized crime doing the same gigs. It was a hot time and a dangerous world.
ОтветитьWas that Luca Brasi?
ОтветитьGreat movie.
ОтветитьFrank wanted to do the scene in one shot.
He hated how Brando worked, trying different things.
For Brando, it was all a rehearsal.
For Sinatra, it was showtime.
Sinatra is utterly convincing as a tough New York resident named Frank - it's a role he was born to play! 😸
ОтветитьThanks for sharing this powerful drama! Frank Sinatra leads an all star cast in this gritty film and it's well worth watching.
Ответить(spoilers alert !) Watched till the end, but... without growing enthousiasm for one or another reason. It doesn't come close of let's say French Connection or Seven Ups to name but these. And it's of course also no Godfather. These guys all look like Coca Cola without bubbles left in them, as if they are collectively in the "late October" of their years in stead of september. Like the offices they are working in: tired, with fading colours. Even if the movie has 2hours21 to develop, the story does not make a lot of sense, suspense and a real climax are lacking. Throwing in a jewish funeral in the middle didn't help to speed up things a bit. What sounded as an interesting cast on paper, even singer Jay Black, I can't really say those expectations really materialized. This movie almost leaves me indifferent; it's not "bad", it's not good either. It's a long crime movie about tired looking older cops and some baddies. Like there are 13 in a dozen.... No interesting characters, no deep one liners or conversations. But OK, the loooooong 1970's cars were fun to see. The soundtrack was also quite average. I'd give it a 5.5/10.
ОтветитьPas mal...
ОтветитьWish Jay Black had more acting roles - he was terrific here - would have been better if he sang though
ОтветитьSinatraPloitation film.
ОтветитьWasn't this originally the Cherry St Fiasco? Anyway - great movie!
ОтветитьI never saw this movie until tonight, but I can say that it was so much better than the typical Hollywood bilge they are generally excreting today. I was totally surprised at how Frank Sinatra's character decided to "break bad" and the consequences from that decision. Good movie!
ОтветитьAwesome movie.
Frank on top form, he was the man.
Sinatra was a fantastic actor. In non musical roles he was as good as any.
ОтветитьMy favourite...detective
ОтветитьVery good movie. All the cast were great. Frank Sinatra was at his best.
Ответить70s NYC…THANX for this x 10
ОтветитьGreat old movie with Frank Sinatra
ОтветитьAs much as I love Sinatra, this story was pure fantasy land made for tv.
ОтветитьFrank Hovannes, you big dummy!
ОтветитьAnd the band played on!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьNever heard of this one.
ОтветитьFRANK HAS CLASS.
ОтветитьSee Sinatra in another one of his very good films, 'The Detective'.
ОтветитьHow come the “ Greeks” were not arrested at the second truck arrest attempt , after fleeing and being chased after the first failed attempt?
“We Greeked them down” Jay black
They should have been arrested for the murder of the first truck driver, especially after the murdered truck driver would tell Frank before dying
While playing a role with Frank Sinatra on the made-for-TV movie Contract on Cherry Street (1977), Sinatra remarked to Joe De Santis that he "should have played the Godfather". De Santis cherished this comment to the end of his days.
