Nah I’d rather just buy and rent out the rooms and live in one.
ОтветитьHey Mark I live in Austin and I’d like to get to know ya. We have the same mentality and vision. Call me.
😝
Mark sounds like a really mature guy. I was still childish at 24.
ОтветитьSounds like he needs a minimal apartment. Not being there with roommates could be a problem unless you know them well.
ОтветитьI’m in the exact same position and as a vet, I can tell you from being around guys for a long time makes you hesitant on living with 2 of them again, even if they’re close friends. just saying lol
Ответить2week out of six. just buddy up with people on other shifts. and. rent with the 4 other shifts so rental always has 1 person in it
ОтветитьJust Airbnb for the 2 weeks youre at home and keep everything in storage. Be the ultimate minimalist !
ОтветитьStupid...advice...give ur momma an ctra 1000 a month help her out...how rude. U out of school now u out ..see ya h mom thanks for everything...bye...
ОтветитьIt's hard because it is different for everybody, there is no clear cut answer. Really depends on what your financial situation is and what your goals are.
ОтветитьThere's benefits to both depending on the situation, but in his situation he's likely best off having a nice camper or really small home to come home to on a small piece of land or something when he knows where he'll be. Low taxes, easy upkeep on a really tiny place. Then when something changes in his future he can move on easily.
ОтветитьGet a PO BOX.
Keeps your PRIVACY
Caller called Dave to brag a little bit, but okay my man do your thing. 🤣
ОтветитьStay with your parents dude!!
ОтветитьHonestly in my market it makes sense to BUY a home as a rental property and RENT an underpriced one
The rules are different in every situation.
Don't start thinking with the wrong head and see how fast things change. Steer clear of destruction
ОтветитьHopefully he reads this but if I was you Mark id do what Dave said rent a room somewhere cheap where you pay say 500$ or less a month. Pay off all debt if you havent already. Your making 109k a year, if you budget right, lived somewhat frugal... Not spending 4000$ a month you easily could save for the next 6 years.. say you save 65k a year thats 300+k by the age of 30. Buy a house cash at that point and you can do same principal now but use that 500$ your paying and that would be basic bills like heat/ect. Save that 65k a year with investing a good portion you could retire a multiple millionare by age 50 with a house paid for and no worrys about money.
ОтветитьOne of my coworker's son is a union merchant marine, he just moved up to the other union that the captains are in while he trains to be a captain. He chose a roommate in the same Union from a board at the hall and they have apposing schedules and they are gone for months at a time. They only see each other for a week or so at a time if that, both of them invest the savings from rent and are going to be millionaires.
This caller could find a guy or two at his company or union (if he is in one) and do what my coworkers friend does.
He needs to stay with his parents, and a house in cash.
ОтветитьI think havin ur own property early is a blessing. Its a real sense of achievement and a good asset if bought at the right place and location
ОтветитьI wonder if this caller is a merchant marine. I have a friend who was a merchant marine and his dad got him in the union right out of high school. He was making great money and almost never home. This was back before Amazon and there was really no way to spend money unless you went to port and drank and got prostitutes, even with that it was cheap in many other countries. My friend says he wishes he would have done that for the 10 years he did and just invested more than half of his income instead of blowing it. He said that of the 20 of so guys he graduated with, only one is still going to sea, it's a tough life if you want to be married.
ОтветитьIf his parents have a yard, he could buy/build a tiny house for 10-15k, stick it there, and be living someplace paid for with no extra fees. (And could still rent it out when he’s not there if he really wanted.) When he’s ready to move on in life, he can sell it. Or gift it to them as a guest house. Or keep it and take it with him to his next location. No roommates to deal with, parents on site to keep an eye on his stuff; he’s out from under their roof
ОтветитьHotel and airbnbs!!!!!!
ОтветитьOhh man I’m so excited to buy my first house. But I won’t until I get to baby step 4.
ОтветитьFunny how young people have a need to buy to build equity. Have the same problem with my young sister. Not sure how long will stats in town but in such a hurry to buy. Buying is a long term commitment. You cannot count on a fast increase in equity. It may happen or it may not.
ОтветитьFirst video I watch on this channel, and the caller is from my hometown.. crazy.
ОтветитьThis guy should stay with his parents. Save save save.
ОтветитьOnce he has the cash - he should buy a nice condo. Live in it when he's there. Rent it out with AirBNB when he's not there. He could make a ton off AirBNB.
ОтветитьStay w parents...
ОтветитьStay with your parents!
ОтветитьBuy a house have your room and rent the other rooms out to cover your costs!!??
ОтветитьWow big money working on those oil tankers if you can handle the schedule
ОтветитьWhoa just realized this guy is from corpus christi. I live in corpus too lol
ОтветитьWish I was as smart as this guy at 24. Was making good money then to, but had to much of the "I deserve this" attitude.
ОтветитьYou live in Texas and you ask to buy home or not wake up people , Dave told him to stay with he’s parents wow that madness guys , buy home and don’t even ask anybody, Mr Dave you need update we in 2019 let people buy home you have home too !
ОтветитьAirbnb
ОтветитьCome on Dave... A condo? Those is not easy to resell, and they don't normally go up in value!
ОтветитьThis dude comes off the rig hot and loaded for bear. He wants some privacy for, er...love.
He's got money in his pocket and dating 😌 on his brain.
Rent a studio. No girl wants to be swept off her feet...up the hall from Mom.
Why not just continue to live at home and that money you are throwing away give to your parents instead?
ОтветитьBro my name is mark and I’m from Corpus Christi if must be fate that I watch this video😂
ОтветитьLive in a van down by the river.
ОтветитьPlease advice. I have a fully paid house at 37. About 600G. I wish to retire for 5 years. I will be making 36G annually for 5 years from my 300G I am giving as a loan for a project.
I wish to sell my house and live in a rented space for 1000 a month. So that I can make interest of 60g annually. Spend some save some.
Please advice if it’s better to live in rented space or not? From a financial point. Tq.
What would you do If you have 100K in stock and currently renting a condo for $2300 a month would you take off money from stock for down-payment for a home or keep renting? Especially in high price areas like Toronto. If I buy a condo I would have to pay 300 to 400 more then renting. I can definitely afford it, however just not sure its ok to take some money off from retirement saving (stock) and use that for a downpayment.
ОтветитьHe said that things are going to be different in a year. Boy, he wasn't kidding.
ОтветитьGreat advice
ОтветитьThis guy is Nostradamus. Things sure did change a year from 2019.
ОтветитьHow does a student who just graduated have $40K saved up? His parents must have paid off his entire tuition.
ОтветитьNo disrespect to Dave but owning a home is no longer realistic. The cost is just too expensive.
ОтветитьAm I the only one impressed at how he is able to earn over 100K at 24?
ОтветитьIf this off shore oil worker is actually only home for 2 weeks and back out to sea for 6 weeks and then stated out of those 2 weeks he is actually there for 8 days hells bells find a low cost motel/hotel to rent. No lease, no utility bills and no room mates. If he has some sort of stuff rent the smallest storage facility. Needs a car rent that as well.
I've met more than a hand full of these guys who are engineers - [and boy do they understand math] - when they are back on land the last thing these guys want to do is hang around a house or apartment. Many go on road trips and most of them love to go camping. Remember these guys are on an oil or gas platform the last thing they want to do is hang around especially INSIDE a house or apartment.
