Love watching your videos hun. In a crazy, nonsensical world it is great to be able to hear from an intelligent skeptic. Your thoughts and ideas really help to ground me. 😊
ОтветитьGreat video with a really helpful perspective on all of this. I’ve been following the QAnon Shaman story and the Norse Pagan community’s response to it, which has really seemed to highlight the divide within the community between those who are complicit in racism and those who actively speak out against it. What’s interesting though is that although this guy sounds like a new age quack and appropriates Norse symbolism for his white supremacist agenda, he’s also a Christian. From a scholarly standpoint (and from just being part of the witchy community) I’m really interested in what seems to be this increasing link between the alt right, Christianity, and the new age/wellness movement. I think you’re right that it has a lot to do with their reliance on a twisted view of history and “science” to back narcissistic claims to exceptionalism. Anyways thanks for making this video—conversations like this are really important!
ОтветитьSo good. I think this is why I shy away from groups on-line, so many bigots.
Ответить"Through the use of higher dimensional gate ways, you will be taken on a journey through space and time to different events in your life."
I think that's called remembering. 😂
Great video! I think I mostly agree with you, but regarding not labeling them as terrorists I'm not entirely sure yet. One of the things I've noticed (coming from a Dutch outsiders perspective) is that acts of violence by BIPOC is very quickly labeled as terrorism, while those of a white person aren't. Hearing politicians (Rep and Dem) call them terrorists/insurrectionists makes it more difficult for politicians to covertly go after their approval without looking bad in the eyes of a large other group of their constituency. It makes it more necessary to join in the denouncing and it stands out when they don't. (which is then still a facade, which may also not be preferable). But I agree that it plays into a persecution delusion, and also that it might further their believe that they are called terrorists because the deep state has now labelled them as such. So, you're kinda damned if you do, damned if you don't :(
Ответить“We definitely saw some things and we’re processing” lol
ОтветитьYour animals are so relaxed!
ОтветитьWhat I find wild is the almost mirroring of the lalaland woo individuals and the christian lalalanders. Like they seem to be wholly diametrically opposed theologically but have all the same undertones and attitudes and behaviours. Sarcasm voice It's almost as if dominating and abusing is a personality trait adapted to any faith!
ОтветитьThanks, as always, for your incisive analysis.
ОтветитьIf you are tolerant of intolerance....that’s called the Popper Paradox after Austrian philosopher Karl Popper. Popper lived through the Nazis and it profoundly shaped his work. I highly recommend reading up on the Popper Paradox. It explains a lot.
ОтветитьWhile the "Qanon shaman " seems to be a really bad joke. But I find the focus on the insurectionists as terrorists perhaps appropriate, I also find the utter dismissal of the riots, beatings, murders and destruction of businesses that went on for months rather hypocritical.
ОтветитьBison Guy just looks hilarious. I'm sure he is dangerous though.
Ответить"implants"?!
ОтветитьSpiritual self-defense.
ОтветитьNothing this guy said sounded sensical, or traditionally based.
ОтветитьTerrorism existed before President George W. Bush. Clinton had to deal with Timothy Mc Veigh and the OKC Bombing.
Ответитьthank you so much for this video!
ОтветитьMy best friend and I were just watching this video and I made a point that she said I should share. When you were talking about invented iconography and invented history, I immediately thought of ACTUAL Nazis, specifically Heinrich Himmler and the Ahnenerbe, the group of "scholars" who attempted to manipulate history and archeological finds as proof of this race of ubermensch, Aryans, that Germans were supposed to have descended from. All of it fantastical malarkey, of course. Malarkey given credence by the backing of the second in command of the Reich itself, Heinrich Himmler. I could go on and on but would really encourage people to read more about this because this is what we are facing now with these neo-fascists. They aren't well meaning. They aren't patriotic. They are treasonous and incredibly dangerous individuals who would, if given free reign, rip the very heart from Columbia and leave her lying in the gutter.
ОтветитьI so appreciate you discussing this and especially doing so from such a place of anti-racism and calling folks to action to effectively address racism in their communities in the ways that people of color have asked that it be done. But I also feel the need to name that there is an incredibly long history of scientific racism, including but not limited to eugenics, phrenology, the development of the gynecology through experiments on enslaved Black women, the Tuskegee experiment, and the story of Sarah Baartman. The problem is not woo and the solution is not skepticism - racism permeates and is upheld by both groups and both schools of thought. The problem is whiteness and the solution is antiracist solidarity. Thank you again for sharing this video - it is necessary work that you have stepped up to.
Ответитьsounds corny, but it's pithy: accept love reject hate
ОтветитьI think this is a great initial reaction to the situation. Unfortunately, the more information that came out, it turned out they were insurrectionist terrorists. Just really stupid and bad ones, thank goodness.
ОтветитьCute kitty. 😊
