We own two Rav 4 Primes. I trust Toyota when it comes to hybrids. I test drove a Honda hybrid and it seemed odd when I accelerated and there was a delay for the engine kicking in due to the generator powering the car and the engine powering the generator.

Personally i feel there isn’t need of panoramic roof, 360 degree camera would be nicer but still these are mid size suv and are easy to handle and ventilated seats i felt most required.

Rav4 fuel economy is 41/38. CR-V hybrid is 40/34. Rav4 has a spare tire, CR-V does not. These are important reasons why I'm considering the Rav4.

Rav-4 has more of the features that I’m interested in. Aside from the leather upholstery, the CR-V is disappointing with available features. Additionally, Toyota is years ahead of Honda with regard to perfecting hybrid models.

I bought a 2022 rav4 xse hybrid cavalry blue, amazing car. Love driving it. Just ordered 2025 rav4 hybrid limited just because of passenger seat has no up and down control on xse only on limited trim there's seat heightcontrol. My husband didn't fit in passenger seat. I think the rav4 any trim is always much more stylish than a crv thats my opinion. I mean 2 years of driving the RAV4 if my only complaint is the passenger side seat height I think that's pretty good don't you think?

I recently bought a 2025 CRV Hybrid Touring after having driven a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited for the last few years. The quality of the back-up camera in the 2025 CRV Hybrid Touring is flat-out disappointing. There are times at night where the back-up camera is grainy, and looks like it has the quality of a flip-phone. The placement makes it less than ideal in rainy weather with water-spots at times requiring me to get out and wipe the camera clean when trying to back up (this has happened twice in the first 2,000 miles to the best of my recollection). While I am generally pleased with everything else, this feels like a place where Honda has clearly missed the mark. When a vehicle that is 7 years older has a better back-up camera...it seems that someone at Honda has made an active choice not to upgrade a feature (the camera quality) that is used almost daily by most drivers (backing up).

I never thought I’d be wanting a RAV4 but here I am, lol. Tired of driving cars that get me less than 15mpg. I drove a Volvo s60 and got around 15mpg, now I’m driving a xc90 and I’m averaging 10mpg when gas prices are almost $5 here

Honda is an ‘Engineer Driven’ company, Toyota is Marketing Driven. The Honda ‘Engineer Management’ don’t seem to understand why a customer would want certain options. Plus, they want you to buy a Acura if you want those options.

The CRV Hybrid Touring is about the same spec as between the XSE Tech and Unlimited RAV4 Hybrid. The Honda is slightly more money but they are available on lot with no BS like most of the Toyota dealers. We bought the CRV Hybrid Touring in spring 2023 after our other car was totalled. We had wanted the RAV4 Plug in hybrid but Toyotas were impossible to get and on order we would still be waiting. At the time the xse was the same price as the CRV with the $5000 government incentive. Now it’s about $2,500 more.

The Honda is better looking (my opinion), more space, less dated interior (my opinion), drives nicer, handles better…if only they would throw a 10-15kwh battery in so it could drive completely EV. Wife loves it. Tow rating isn’t the best but we do fine.

Dad has a 2020 RAV4. Mom has a 2025 CRV. Both hybrids. Ride quality is smoother with the CRV. RAV4 is slightly superior with its hybrid system. But in the end, it all depends on your taste.

My wife & i just bought a 2024 Toyota RAV4 & we want to thank u for this video review of both of these vehicles. It was super helpful to us in making our decision. The way u two go back & forth about sharing your takes on each is very informative & fun to watch & makes us think about things in ways we might not otherwise do.. Keep up the Great work ! We opted for the RAV4 Hybrid because of the many more trim package options offered. The bit better gas milage. The basic differences between the ecvt transmissions. We chose the SXE Trim level & we chose the Calvary Blue / Black top , two color option with the Panoramic Sunroof. Yes, u are right, it did take us ALOT of extra time & effort to actually find the vehicle that had everything we wanted ...BUT we knew exactly what we wanted & were willing to work to find it. We finally lucked out & found it 5 hrs away from where we live. Thank u very much again !

I'm guessing Honda is saving some of the missing features for when the RAV4 gets updated. Because most of these features are available in European and Asian editions of the CR-V. Honda NA might release them as upgrades in time for the RAV4 update.

It’s way better to go with Honda. Dealing with Toyota and their dealers in Canada is terrible. They are just so shady and lie all the time. I went to buy a car only to be called on the way to the dealer to be told the car was sold. One of my friends has been waiting for his highlander hybrid for over 2 years. Nothing is worth that kind of wait.

RAV4. Toyota has been the best in terms of reliability, living in Yakutsk, in summer it is off roading because of are roads (mud, holes etc) and in winter it is ice and -60C and Toyota always win. Then it is Honda and then rustic Russian cars such as UAZ, Lada, Ural etc.

There is the less tangible element of NVH. I don't know about the coming 2026 RAV 4, but in the 2023-25s, the Sport Touring CRV (more sound proofing than the Sport or Sport-L) definitely feels and sounds more refined than the RAV-4.

AND the CR-V don't have a spare tire. One of our current vehicle (2023 KIA Niro SX Touring PHEV) left my children stranded with a tire damaged by a pothole. After that, I decided to no longer consider ANY new vehicles w/o spare tire.

I'm glad I watched to the end. You constantly used the words "available with" for the RAV4. The reality is they are not available. I've been waiting a year and a half for a Highlander XLE Hybrid in Canada, and the RAV4 had longer wait times. You gave that brief mention at the end, but didn't fully capture the reality of it. The CR-V is looking very good right now and will save me a lot of money. Any Honda I've had has been very good!

Funny to know that there is another hybrid CRV eHEV available in other parts of the world which has better fuel economy, panoramic roof, fog lights, ventilated front seats and full digital dash and more.
I think Honda is keeping only Pilot with these options and keep CRV in a distance in North America.

Honda doesn't want to encroach on luxury features normally found in its Acura brand. You'll find CR-Vs in Europe with tons of additional features & a PHEV model.

Thanks for the video. Just bought a 2024 RAV Hybrid after driving whatever SUVs possible (in the budget). Here’s my summary:

1. If “fun driving” and “premium interior” are the most important criteria for you, go for a Mazda. Beats Honda any day. But remember they come in standard packages and customizations can be headache. Plus, historically, some of them spoke of a rust issue.
2. If you want most space with a more updated gansta vibe inside the SUV, go for a CRV. But note that their Hybrid system is not REALLY a hybrid system. It’s sharing the load of gas to some extent, that’s it. Most CRV hybrid users do not see significant difference compared to a gas model that is needed to justify the price difference, which is weird to me.
3. Toyota Hybrid is the most efficient as well as powerful on road. They offer customizations and I had met the friendliest salespeople of all there. The biggest things Toyota brings above all “good to haves” are safety and reliability. That brings down your insurance quotes significantly as well. They can add and take out anything from your car, when Mazda freaks out at any customization. Even their employees are frustrated about which trim has what.
Either way, all 3 cars are AWESOME. You can’t be at a loss buying either. As a customer, you must just know what you’re paying for.

We own three RAV4 Hybrids, 2019, 2020 and a 2021, the gas mileage is incredible driving careful I have achieved a 4.76 litres per 100 on the 2021 and a 4.8 on the 2019, the 2019 has 180,000 km on it with one technical problem so far ( failed wheel bearing $600 plus just for the part) and 7 spots of bubbling paint on the roof, the 2020 has had the wiring harness fail (covered by special warranty) 12 volt battery failure, seized rear brake pads, tires are shot after 68,000 km. The 2021 is an XSE so far so good 78,000 km so far. I’ve been thinking lately about looking at either the Honda or Mazda when it comes time to replace one of these, they are noisy on the road and not as reliable as Toyota’s I’ve owned in the past. As I said earlier, fuel efficiency is outstanding! Cheers

What's the point of hybrid if it is less efficient.
Honda copied entire Toyota's e-cvt bit for some reason didn't know how or didn't want the same functions. So they added brake pack to planetary gear set. So honda has more complex e-cvt like Mitsubishi but with less functional modes than Toyota. That is why Toyota-aisin hybrid sinergy drive is the best in the world without competition.

We haul a lot, so the extra CRV storage space is essential. Don't like the fix-a-flat but Honda offers a spare tire kit on their Acura RDX models which we elected on our 2022 model. Don't care about panoramic sunroof or 360 camera. I really think Honda wants customers to buy the Acuras if they want some of the extra features not found in the CRV.
