His online lessons are amazing highly recommend. Another great video Craig
ОтветитьLove that swing of yours Craig has to be one of the best on the internet
ОтветитьJust started watching this guy. I practiced his last two lessons and I picked up about 5 yards of carry distance. And my swing feels easier!!! Amazing.
ОтветитьAmazing info there on the right arm Craig never seen that before thanks
ОтветитьYour swing is just so good! …Sometimes I just watch it over and over again love the content Craig thank you so so much.
ОтветитьHi are we supposed to lock the right wrist before and upon ball impact ?
ОтветитьThis is so needed for me right now. Craig, I’ve been watching coaches that like to preach not rolling the hands over because of consistency issues but I feel like trying to keep the hands from rolling is a detriment to my swing that causes physical issues in hands and wrists.
ОтветитьCraig, could you do a video on the difference between that "under" release you're talking about and "flipping" releasing the club. As an amateur I have a hard time understanding the difference between the two. Thx for your videos
ОтветитьGreat technical video would feel seem like you're trying to get the club head over, taking the although they don't
ОтветитьLag or delay, Moe Norman
ОтветитьWhen i was growing up in the 70's Henry Cotton used to teach that it was all about the hands. All us kids laughed- seems he was right 😂!
ОтветитьCraig as always, outstanding, life to short to play crappy golf, I may tattoo that on my forehead lol, Craig as I'm watching your lesson I've moved up in lofts ,no more players irons, getting older,so I'm gaming the pro 225 and I'm regripping and taking a 1/4 inch off the long irons, as im watching this lesson, ive seen many, many of your videos, this one is right up there at the top. Range tomorrow morning, and I'll be rewinding and watching this masterpiece the whole session. Thanks man, love it.
Ответитьwhere can i get one of those giant clubs. 😂
ОтветитьYes correct but you have to have a N grip most have weak or strong grip that’s why Scott is so good he has a N- grip
ОтветитьOk but how is he two people??? One man with a black shirt and one man with a blue shirt???
ОтветитьI’m pretty the problem with my game is I need a bigger club head
ОтветитьIts come from spine
ОтветитьCraig and Bobby Jones—hands in the swing! Hogan said he wished he had three right hands!
ОтветитьHey Craigjust watched my first video of yours. Where are you based?
ОтветитьNice 👍🏻
ОтветитьThis is just what I need! Been working the wrist hinge, unhinge, and rehinge. This video lets me understand this very important part of the swing. Thank You!
ОтветитьI learnt a new finishing technique thank you sir
ОтветитьI don't understand how this increases speed and compression? I see speed but it reduces compression?
ОтветитьWhat’s with the late lateral hip movement in your backswing Craig?
ОтветитьGreat work Craig. It takes a while to get things through my thick skull. Strong grip combined with the underneath release results in very solid, straight shots.
ОтветитьThanks for sharing .. always working on my swing
ОтветитьHey - what happened to the video that was uploaded yesterday? Disappeared pretty fast!
ОтветитьThis really works! This man knows exactly what he's talking about... 💪🏼
ОтветитьHow does this release work for seniors?
ОтветитьExcellent and informative. Thanks! I have one comment / criticism however. Using the word or description "effortless" is at a minimum misleading and for most amateurs unhelpful and not how it feels... nonetheless a great video with your detailed demonstrstions.
ОтветитьBeen golfing for years and now 66. I read every article, book, whatever and practiced for years. Then I magically had a swing. It was b/c after my initial takeaway I got my forearm to rotate slightly for the wrist angle. Didn't know what I was doing but it worked so well I could play scratch golf. But now older, I'm seeing what I didn't know. Thanks.
ОтветитьThank-you Craig!!! I went out & golfed & worked on the proper movement of the hands. I’ve always had zero to few degrees of shaft lean. I have spent several thousands on lessons & no one ever taught this hand motion. I went out today & was able to get the proper hand release working. I’ve been golfing for 40+ years. I’m look forward to working with you in the near future. The difference with the proper hand release is UNBELIEVABLE!!
ОтветитьThank you sooo much for this. Gave me the AH HA moment I needed. Last year a lost about 10-15 yards on my irons and my wedges. Couldn’t figure out why. I saw a picture someone took of me swinging a 5 iron years ago and I noticed that my hands were like you described post impact. Then I realized that for some reason, it seemed like I just stopped doing that but I couldn’t figure out how to get it back. Once it happened upon this video, it only took me about 2 weeks to put this move back into my swing. Played the other day and dropped about 12 strokes off my gave over the week prior. Hitting bombs again with driver and getting started on my intended line. I can now swing slower with more control which improved distance, control, and accuracy. You’re sooooo right about how the body follows the hands. Felt some stretches in some muscles I haven’t felt in a while. Thank you thank you thank you for making this kind of instruction free for all of us!!! Best of luck to you Sir!!!
ОтветитьAmazing!
ОтветитьA swing thought which helped me achieve the grip pointing up was trying to brush the side of my trail knee with the palm of my trail hand. I found this worked because:
-I obviously wouldn't strike my knee with my trail hand, so it forced me to clear my hips, shallow my swing, and most importantly prevent me from creating an "internal rotation of the elbow" as discussed in one of your previous videos, in order to stop me from striking my knee with my hand.
-It promoted an in to out swing path which produced my desired draw while still allowing me to fade my shorter irons
-Because I was trying to strike my knee with the palm of my trail hand, it forced me to hinge my wrists and release at the right time
The internal rotation of the elbow is discussed in another video, but I was struggling with putting it all together because I found I was pushing the trail arm to create the swing, much like a slap-shot in hockey, rather than relaxing and releasing the arms/wrists. This swing thought I believe helped me because it put all of these concepts together while promoting a relaxed, smooth swing because my swing is essentially anchored around the trail knee, not the golf ball. Does any of this make sense?
I tried this at the range with a bucket of balls and for the first time in a few years, every ball that came off the club face felt like butter and produced a very repeatable shot shape and height.
When I tried this swing thought, I realized where my hands were finishing, and it reminded me of this video which I had watched a few weeks ago.
Thank you!
This is exactly how I've always swung my clubs, and have always had major distance over most people I'd play with...
HOWEVER, you can't even begin to imagine how many people have told me in my lifetime that I break my wrists too much & argue with me about it
Hilarious.
After watching this video it help me realize that I’ve been dragging the club all the time never release it . After practicing this I hit my lowest round 71 . Thank you Craig
ОтветитьDr. Hanson, I have seen the hack moton device on the lead wrist.
ОтветитьCraig , How do you swing the Precision Impact trainer , when the right wrist will be bent , but will keep you bent and not allow one to get the left wrist bent, right wrist into flexion .
The Precision Impact trainers lower have digs into the top of my wrist ?
Great
ОтветитьDoes Adam Scott close his eyes at impact?
ОтветитьLife is too short to play crappy golf !! Have you been hanging out with Tom Saguto??
ОтветитьBought the Deep to Shallow programme. Broke 90 (86)for the first time this year just last week. Had some nice comments from my playing partners on how smooth my swing looked too! Craig is the best!!
ОтветитьHi Craig. Thanks for your dedication to us Ams. Can you please let us all know at what point do the wrists start "rolling". Does this technique, like many, require repetitive drills/practice.
ОтветитьThis is great for older players like myself!!!!
ОтветитьThank you for your video series. Having the thought of releasing after impact for me is helpful. That way I am not scooping or losing my right wrist angle at impact.
ОтветитьIf you want to read my analysis of Craig Hanson's recommended hand release action, use a Google search engine to locate the "Newton Golf Institute golf forum", then go to the "Golf Swing Instruction" subsection in order to read the thread called "Analysing Craig Hanson's recommended hand release action".
