Happy birthday!! They already pushed the Cloud/Aerith thing pretty hard in Remake IMO, especially if you got Aerith's resolution scene - and it looks like it will get forced harder in Rebirth. I think this is SE's way of ensuring that maximum emotional damage will be done if anything happens....

Marlene is not there to foreshadow but to help Aerith live. The key in the reimagining is that Aerith knows her fate so things won’t be playing the same.

Every character should shine but in this case it’s Aerith since she’s the protagonist heroine in FF7. You can’t expect the same content for all.

Cloud & Aerith have a straight up romance going on since last game and the OG of course. Cloud could never let her go even after she was gone.

Square Enix planned the release specifically to coincide with your birthday, Dee!

this trailer contains so much and so little at the same time and i'm happy with, i'm probably going to skip the final few trailers tho but i'm very happy with this one, and the music djeezes. btw about barret being the spoof date in gold saucer they already confirmed that it will be in the game through an interview also HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! The more I see, the more I think Aerith might actually survive in Rebirth. Marlene telling Zack about her premonition might indicate that his story arc would culminate in him saving his beloved (maybe even by sacrificing himself, although I wish they both survived this Trilogy).

You know Dizzie is overwhelmed when she just has one word responses during. “But… Yes… What?, OMG… No… And… Ok… etc” lol

Oh hey, yesterday was your birthday? Today is MY birthday, and I missed the game awards yesterday, so I only saw the trailer today. Awesome B-day present for both of us!

Jessie was NOT on a bed next to Biggs. That was only Biggs.

Nojima promised through Jack Garland, his own Doomguy, to "rip that power" from his bosses hands and free the FF series from them. Doomguy (3/20/2020) saluted the FF7R release (originally 3/3/2020) by posing for a scene...where Cloud was "on the way to save Aerith", meaning Doomguy promised to save Aerith.

Nomura drew Zack and Jack together for an anniversary tribute.

From all the interviews with Kitase and Nomura it feels like the outcome will be the same but how we arrive there is gonna be a shock. If they really wanna go full twisting the knife, they could have the timelines converge and Zack arrives at the City of the Ancients just in time to see Aerith die, and the change is its Zack that has that iconic moment of releasing her body into the lifestream. Part of me wants to see them go that hard, but the other part of me knows it will destroy me completely.

There is also the possibility that she lives here only to die in Part 3. But I just have this gut feeling that however way it shakes out, Aerith still dies. And I just don't know if that should change. This is a new story, we know now that its not really a remake or rework of the OG but a sequel. So the creative team has a license to do whatever they want. But killing Aerith was such a bold and shocking move back then, I feel like any other ultimate outcome that deviates from that might cheapen the story.

Lot of different things they could do. Maybe they find something else that is equally as bold and shocking? And if thats the case I shudder to think how hard that is going to hit

Oh, and the reason Aerith features so heavily here is I think this is her song. Notice at the very end the very quiet, sprinkling in of the piano part from Aerith's theme.

The original has been out for more than 25 years, there ain't no spoilers anymore :D
