They should produce a mini-series on TV about Warwick
ОтветитьWaiting for William V. I can't believe the people of England and Parliament accepted Chuck as King, with he being married to what's her name. Yech!! I like Kate though!!
ОтветитьI thought I had heard that they believe they found the bones of the Two Princes in the Tower. Also I think they found the skeleton of Richard III with severe curvature of the spine. I think his grave was found under a parking lot somewhere. Richard III was the younger brother of Edward IV by some 10 years. Edward IV died at age 40 from some illness. The oldest Prince, age 12, became King Edward V for 78 days until he disappeared in the Tower. Richard III proclaim King, and reigned for 2 plus years until killed in battle at Bosworth Field.
ОтветитьI don't remember any of this, and I studied all this. I have a textbook in my bookcase all about the Kings and Queens of England.
ОтветитьI don't think the people of England would ever accept a King Clarence.
ОтветитьDan Jones is rather handsome, and having a competent knowledge of history just makes him that much more.. 😏
ОтветитьKing Edward was known as the "black boy"?
The people responsible for making fake historical videos should prove their white washed nonsense?
I urge anyone listening to this nonsense to dismiss these fake videos!
👨🏾🎓🙏🏽👼🏽🙏🏽👨🏾🎓
I am the 16th descended great grandson of Edward the 4th however sadly it was from an illegitimate child however I’m technically still blood-related too him directly 😂
ОтветитьEdward was free to marry who he wished but keeping it from the man instrumental in him becoming king, announcing it publicly while Warwick was busy arranging a royal marriage, reveals how impulsive, selfish, ungrateful and short sighted Edward was. What was to happen should have come as no surprise to Edward.
ОтветитьTalk about stabbing a freind in the back
Ответить“Edward IV, King of England, has basically married a chav” is a sentence that will live rent free in my head forever! 😂😂
ОтветитьAt the time, The War of the Roses was known as The Cousin's War. Warwick was Edward of York's cousin. Their relationship would have been better explained if that had been shown early on in the program. Edward had known him all his life, and looked up to him. Warwick's father and Edward's father were killed in the same battle; Warwick's father acted as advisor to Edward's father in the same way that Warwick would to Edward. Although, as Edward was a randy youngster, and Warwick was older and not into sleeping around so much, he saw himself as superior. Sharon Kay Penman's The Sunne in Splendor, although fiction, does a great job of sticking to the known facts and showing the attitudes of the major players during that period. Although for easy watching history, this show is good.
Ответитьlove Dan Jones he was born for this
ОтветитьNormally not into English history but this is great. Edward III is the 20x grandfather of my two daughters (at this point, who isn’t a grandchild of a medieval King 😂). Between 1540-1631 that line emigrated to America but I’ve been curious why a family with a direct line to the King of England would emigrate. This helps build out the story for me to share with their kids.
ОтветитьOh Edward, he thinks not with the head above his neck but instead the head between his legs 🤣
ОтветитьI watched this documentary right after the documentary about Henry VI and I have to say, this was a pretty half-arsed in comparison. Was a bit disappointed in the lack of detail on how the crown was taken by each king. Just telling the bare bones of historical points
ОтветитьThe most savage take all!
This is what will happen when society collapse in the usa....😮😢😮
Lol Poor John lol😂
ОтветитьHenry VI must have not been so useless if he managed to kill Richard of York lol
ОтветитьExcellent dramatization. Is that filmed specially for the documentary, or is it from a film? If a film, I'd like to see that film. What is it?
ОтветитьYou know, it might seem at first glance like Edward IV was thinking with his loins rather than pragmatically when he snubbed France in favour of Elizabeth Woodville, her family, and their Burgundian relatives. However, now that I think of it contextually, in addition to reaching out to his Lancastrian enemies like Dan Jones said, he may have also been basically thinking "Really, Warwick, another French princess? After a century and a half of us marrying French princesses and still getting into war with France? Haven't we tried enough of that? Isn't that even what got us into this mess in the first place? Really, what's the point in continuing with that? My country is at civil war. Maybe it's time to start marrying inward instead of outward. And if it comes to it, maybe an alliance with Burgundy could help us keep France at bay." I know I would recognize the futility of trying to negotiate with France with another marriage alliance. Too bad Warwick wasn't thinking the same.
ОтветитьTheir can't be hate a seed must be love and no discord I have a few they misread the love of family and never honored it if he lost then he was suppose to prove he earned by money intelligence and arguments of love and Honor.
ОтветитьI love this channel! Amazing work
ОтветитьYour documentaries are phenomenal! Thankyou so much.🌹
ОтветитьThis is peak era Europe in my opinion. The clothes, the affairs, the brutality, the wars, everything is just fun. There should have been made a wonderful series on all this already but nope.
ОтветитьWarrick became drunk with his own power and position and ego.Funny how you sometimes still run across people like him in the workplace- e.g."ass-kissers"!
ОтветитьOur host... doesn't seem to know what to do with his arms
ОтветитьThe numbers of fighting men...? Realy? Doesn't make sense. Where are all these people coming from? Didnt think there were that many fighting men left in all of England given the previous wars in France and epic battles in the homeland. This is early 15th century . Is it possible the numbers are exaggerated for dramatic effect? There would be hardly any men left to father another generation at this rate.
ОтветитьThere’s one battle that Dan Jones overlooked in this episode and it’s the Battle Of Tewksbury which resulted in the death of a great portion of the Lancastrian nobility as well as the death of Prince Edward and capture of Queen Margaret
ОтветитьElizabeth's mother was Jacquetta of Luxembourg who had been married to the brother of Henry V! Hardly a chav!
Ответить¨Right trustee and well beloved, we greet you well¨' Dan: well, that´s medieval English for hello.
ОтветитьThey’re just ye olde roadmen. Instead of fighting over council blocks, they’re fighting over castles.
ОтветитьDan Jones looks like a video game mini boss. A cute mini boss, but a mini boss nevertheless.
ОтветитьLove Dan Jones and hate it when I realise ive already watched the history documentary, but got that engrossed forgot to hit the like button to like it and see that ive already watched it. Fantastic historian and narrator.
ОтветитьI love Warwick's shocked Pikachu face when he gets no response from Henry after proclaiming him king again 😅
ОтветитьYou know.....I feel a bit better about American politics now. What do ya know 🤔 😏
ОтветитьLove this channel. Is this who Rob Stark’s character is based on ?
ОтветитьThese get better every time. These families are crazy .
ОтветитьDan Jones enthusiastic delivery style makes me want more. Too many Historians speak in monotones with dull facial expressions, which makes the viewer at risk of falling asleep!
ОтветитьIs this the dude in peep show
ОтветитьEdward the 1st (LongShanks) was King of Kings. Henry the 7th who defeated Richard the 3rd is also a King who should be talked about a lot more. Being the First Welsh Born King.
ОтветитьThe old adage of, 'pussy will pull you further than dynamite will blow you' seems to be very true in the case of Edward IV.
Ответитьthe centralised or divided england is likely one of the basis of english democracy
ОтветитьIt seems like this channel's page is still bugged.
ОтветитьThe bloodiest battle in England soil its just very very small footnote on Chinese civil wars 😂😂.
ОтветитьJajjaja como le dice al que ha estado 10 años..encerradomm long Live the King.😂😂....
