Very, very disappointed we have to wait till 2024. My understanding they were going to have 16 episodes this year. Why did they change what they originally said? The episodes are very short on top of that!

I've posted this elsewhere too. I need perspective about Jamie and William's scene? This was the best scene for me. I know how the books went, but as it relates to the series, I am convinced William has some inclination who Jamie could really be. I think he's just in some sort of self-protective denial.

There were couple things I've noticed. After Simon Fraser died, when Claire said directly to William "I'm sorry for your loss", William asked with a pensive look, what for? When Jamie gave him his hat, it was hard to read William's face, but there were some emotions. I saw several moments after Jamie left where William seem to be doing some thinking over that hat. Is it just me?

Fantastic episode, the writers got it right the director great job and the cast got me rooting for them the whole time I mean it was just great all the way through

Haven't read the books. But, Claire and Jamie wrote letters to Brianna and Roger. I assume that Roger and Buck will see Claire and Jamie in Scotland. Won't the letters tell them that Roger was there and the reason? No spoilers please, but just wondering... I guess they didn't read all the letters as they were saving them, so maybe that explains it.

Jamie shot William's tricorner hat off to keep him away from Simon Fraser as General Fraser was being shot at and William could have been caught in the line of fire - similar to how he saved William as a baby, which was referenced in this episode

I thought this episode was BRILLIANT. It was everything I wanted it to be and MORE! I sobbed and gasped so many times. I LOVE OUTLANDER!!!!

Jamie and his son DID know each other in the beginning. Jamie taught him how to ride and care for a horse. Though the kid didn't realize Jamie was his father. For those on the opposite side of the viewer...most of us watching the show are not stupid. If you lose Jamie OR Claire, the show stops! We know they will survive until the end of the show. I even feel that Murtagh will return somewhere along the line. If you aren't the author(s), you are only guessing. Never forget that this show is business. The bottom line is to make money or they stop and try elsewhere...no matter what. All it can take in someone asking for more money than they are worth, for example.

I believe the funeral is Simon Fraser's burial.. because Jamie and Claire took Simons body back

I hate the idea if having to wait till 2024 to watch the last 8 episodes of season 7 when they have already been filmed. Since they were already completed before the writer and actor strike started there is no reason they couldn't go ahead and release them.
Now on to the theory of Rob Cameron having taken Jemmy back into the past through the stones. This is not even possible because first Rob Cameron is not a time traveler and he has no connection to the past such as a loved one. Also he would have had to have at least 2 gem stones for he and Jemmy to get through the stones.

i don’t remember for certain but i think Rob/Roger/Buck may go back to a different time, not to 1778. that (i think) is why Geillis and Dougal and the dreaded Laoghaire and others are returning to the show.

I quit watching halfway through season 4. The books are so much better. Not sure what happened after season 2. If anyone agrees, but kept watching, and thinks the show is good again let me know.

Jaime knew William as a child because Jaime was a prisoner of Lord John who got him a job at the Ellesmere estate as the Horse trainer and stable man. He left when the resemblance became obvious and therefore dangerous. However, Jaime saw William once again a few years later when Lord John brought him to visit Jaime and Claire at their first Fraser's Ridge cabin. Both of these events were shown in the tv series.
