As someone who has lived in Georgia for 18 years(my whole life duh) I can confidently say that these protests NEED to be happening, let me explain.

In 2012 when political party "Georgian dream" came in power, things slowly started getting worse, I was little at the time so I don't remember much, but since then, the country is in SHAMBLES, minimum wage is less than 200$ a month, pension for elderly is something like 75$ (not even) and recently, government decided to create a "foreign agent law" which is basically cutting our way to EU and is a threat to the freedom of speech. Our country is slowly becoming isolated by the outside world, many people chose to flee the country due to how un-livable it actually is, and those who did not are the ones that are standing there and protesting this whole shitshow in the country. Also did I mention the elections were rigged? And they are being rigged for YEARS by controlling people with money and fear, forcing them to vote for the corrupted party or they will lose their jobs. Us students who are supposed to be studying and preparing for our future careers, are forced to stand outside and protest day and night, so that we can actually have the future we desire.

i hope this cleared some misunderstandings and misinformation that is going on in the internet.

Insane to want to join the EU when other countries cant wait to get out of it. Dont sub out your independence to people who control you, but you cant vote out.
