I own(almost) every Batman animated adaptation(Standalone movie and series, NOT comic). This movie is DEFINITELY not a 9.7/10... I can name at least three RECENT DC animated adaptations that are considerably better. The voice acting lacked, the plot was weak... Which is a shame because the idea has a TON of potential in my opinion. At times they did an excellent job of combining CGI with hand drawn renderings. I WANTED to love it, but just couldn't. Unfortunately, DC missed the mark on what could have been a truly great "out of the box storyline/adaptation. I would give this a 6 out of 10 at best. Still glad I own it because I have a slight Batman addiction. Lol. But, yes... DC/WB animation fell short on this one.

How in god's name could someone praise the animation in this movie?

I think Batman should totally outclass the Joker when it comes to hand to hand combat. Batman was nerfed.

9.7....are you kidding. Was a solid 4/10 for me. Loved the start but as soon as it turned into transformers I was out.

What about making Japanese anime based on Character frim DC Comics such as:Superman,Wonder Woman,Flash,or Green Lantern,etc.

I don't think anyone get's IGN. Yes I know. It's dumb. But it's their opinion. (BUT SOMETIMES IT'S BULL CRAP.)

I just watched the english dub with the sub for the original japanese audio.

That are two almost completely different movies. The english dub is terrible (when it comes to actually translating)

I like the designs, but I hate that 3D animation. Adding 3D animation to anime styled stuff just takes a certain charm out of it for me personally.

As someone who loves Sengoku Feudal Japan, Giant Robots/Transformers Ninja/Samurai and Batman, I enjoyed the movie, story maybe nonsensical but I just love the the movie incorporate a lot of stuff and for that I really love it.

It was just honest fun and Japanse culture thrown together

Everything in this movie goes beyond the wildest imaginations. And if there is an act someone doesn't like, it is because this movie is not MADE IN HOLLYWOOD. This will mess you up, especially if you watched it in Japanese like I did. Every act is a rendition to painting, drawing and then... cinema.

I don't get it why ppl hate this movie so much...they hated it because with it's anime-like animation not to mention the mecha and silly plot BUT overall it's a great movie

It's called a Batman NINJA and designed / directed by almost Japanese ppl so what do u expect it to be? Got to agree with IGN with this one giving it 9.7 because DC tried something new this time

Honestly I didn't like the movie. I guess that may be because I've always preferred plot > action and they had very little to any plot. I guess this movie is great for the people that prefer seeing giant robots fight than a battle of wits, which I understand to some level. In summary; not for me.

Man the bat man logo on his had me dying on the floor 😂 also when batman doing some jutsu technique in the end had me wheezing... It's like naruto "bat no jutsu!" And became swarm of bats 😂

The first parts were great but the movie kinda...... Uhhh kinda nose dives abit at the end for me, overall it was a fun thing to watch for me

Not gonna lie, this review in 2018 got me super excited to watch this and I got the bluray steelbook.
To my dismay. It was awful… the plot is a mess, the pacing is terrible, the script ughhh. 9.7? It’s a 5.6 on imdb for a reason. There are so many other better batman animated movies.
