I almost drowned when I was 6 and have PTSD from it. Aside from dissociative issues, I'm 18 and still remember the hopelessness of not being able to push yourself up and my lungs and chest feeling like they were gonna explode. Ill never swim in water if I can't see the bottom, and I hate the idea of even swimming in the ocean, I even get deep seated anxiety from swimming in the ocean in video games. I love horror media and don't scare very easily but I legit get terrified doing the gta 5 underwater missions to the point where I had to switch to different games multiple times and have never made it more than 5 minutes playing subnautica or iron lung
