Definitely suggest reading the webtoon. I watched the show first and was still very irritated how much they left out or changed. They put 100 chapters into 13 episodes, and changed alot. The animation was the saving grace for the show. They also changed the the powers of Jeagel. Jaegel could literally absorb borrowed powers. Doppelganger guy, as well as the entire team he was with got eaten by jaegel in the manga. Illpyo beat Mori in their fight, etc. The anime and the Webtoon might as well be seperate.

It was originally the pillar that calmed the seas until wukong stole it from the Dragon King’s palace. Sun wukong is believed to leap 10000 li or 200000 miles in one somorsault. Move at the speed of light and so much more.

Tbch I really didn’t like this show. The animation was godly but the pacing was god-awful. What season 1 covered took about 100 chapters to get to in the WEBTOON and this just felt so damn rushed. Almost everything passed by with little to know explanation and Mori’s Renewal Taekwondo got so little attention it’s like it doesn’t even matter even though his fighting style is one of the centers of his character. Really poorly executed even with the top notch animating.

As of tower of god and the god of highschool, i always want people to know that better seasons are coming... Whoever read those manhwa knows obviously but the animation gives more flavour to it.... Season 2 of TOG will be great and more shocking than the previous one... Now I understand more of the season 1 as i have read the manhwa... The animation nailed it...

By the way Kim Ungyou the progenitor of humanity is from the Korean creation myth, there’s a few different versions, but basically she’s a bear who prayed in a cave for a long time and as a reward God turned her into a human and chose her as his wife

This takes me back when I enjoyed S1 to S2 of the webtoon, until S3 onwards was like "Random bullshit, go!" and none of the readers couldn't even tell wtf was happening as the power scaling was all over the place.

The guy who started the god of highschool tournament is also a bad guy infact he is the main antagonist of this series he consideres gods and jin as threts and uses key to steal jins crown and cane and defeats and subdue all dogs even buddha if i remember correctly. Just a spoiler but monkey king was never a god he was just a very strong warrior who became immortal by drinking something idk what which he stole from the god but still he wasn't satisfied
So he became immortal in seven different way just to make sure and eventually came to be know as a god. That's also the reason why he earns his godly powers back even after loosing them by doing what he did the first time when he earned them ofcourse
