Woz is the real genius behind Apple. Jobs was the business/sales guy.

Without Woz no Apple, without Jobs no successful Apple. You need both. People want a salesman. In a perfect world, we would all be using Linux.

Without Wozniak there would be no Apple.

Steve Wozniak keeps getting the short end and disrespect implanted by Jobs up to this day.

He was out of shape and apple being way to conscious about their brand value and the range of apps in its stores just couldn’t fit him into trends!! So Apple used AI to first reduce him then throw him off finally!!

Jobs is admired by finance and marketing bros. Woz is beloved by engineers and programmers. Each trade has their own heroes.

Not everyone thrives. Evolution depends on it. Note that Jobs also left Apple twice; once by being fired and once by not having smarts enough to seek competent medical assistance and a good diet. Cook, however, has NOT left Apple and Apple is 10x as big as it would have been without him. Cook is a once in a century CEO. Woz was a gifted tech. Jobs was a creative guy. The engineers and programmers working at Apple and the people responsible for their marketing deserve a standing ovation.

I think it's insane how our society tends to be about whoever shouts loudest about being the greatest. While the people that actually make things happen tend to be pushed to the side.

I would love to have a quick snapshot of a timeline where Woz didn't leave his leadership role. I'm not implying that anything would have been better, but I know Apple would be vastly different. Who knows what would have come of the company, I would just love to know what.

I would have been highly disappointed with a two slot solution. Just a modem and printer? Bah. I had a parallel interface, modem, sure. But I also had a display card, disk drive controller, a slot 0 "language card," and a sound synth card. I also had this really cool card that had a button to manually trigger an interrupt and drop you into the system monitor at any time, and you could resume execution after patching code or altering data or whatever. It would also allow you to snapshot system memory to disk to save whatever changes you made for use later.

Steve Jobs died like he lived. Through stubbornness and hubris.

It really annoys me that a lot of people know who Jobs is but not Woz, when it's like comparing the likes of Edison to Tesla. One was a shameless money grabber who claimed all the credit, while the other had all the brains.

Makes you wonder what kind of Apple we would have got had Woz been in charge of Apple. Nowadays, Apple and Open source never rhyme with each other.

Woz is the guy that I look up to, not Jobs.

Woz was always the enthusiast and much alike with a consumer.

My opinion is that Steve Jobs while he was great innovator and marketing genius, was also narcissist and manipulator. He manipulated Wozniak more than once. There is that story in early days when Steve asked to do some work for Atari which actually Wozniak completed and Jobs claimed as his own. Than he lied to Wozniak saying he got $700 from Atari instead $5000

The first purchased computer (as opposed to build your own) I used was the classic Mac. Very easy, very impressive.

I went to store to buy one, and it was on the counter and I'm about to count out $800. But I asked "If I want to upgrade memory or the hard drive, can I?"

No. It was a sealed unit, no DIY.

I walked out, and will never own any Apple product.

I don't know why people think that Woz does not get enough credit...

Nov 2024 - I have the highest respect for both of these iconic people in the early home computer industry. I remember how much Apple began to change the printing industry: offering high resolution to smaller print shops. I have to respect Woz’s vision to let the computer hardware be expanded and enjoyed by other intelligent computer enthusiasts. I also didn’t know Woz taught computer technology to youngsters. EPIC!!

Apple III's cluster F of the initial design to manufacture is a glaring example of Jobs winging it. It shows that without dear Woz, hes nothing. the only reason Jobs was anything since was because of the sheer talent behind him.

Dont forget how Woz was employee number one and Jobs got pissy and became employee zero.
