Definitely love the format and subject matter covered. I just bought into MFT last year, and now have the GH5M2 and GH6, along with the 8-18, 12-60, and 50-200 Leica co-branded lenses. After buying these lenses, I decided to go the cheaper route with primes and get the 25F1.7 and 42.5F1.7. Not sure how much they differ from the more expensive versions, but they seem to be just fine for what I've done with them. One thing I love about the GH6 is the 5.8k open gate mode, and have used it as a stationary camera for live events, adding camera movement in post to simulate a 2-person shoot.
ОтветитьTo get all benefits of GH6 are simply too expensive for me. This new super expensive card type is a huge obstacle for me.
ОтветитьJust added one to our collection to use specifically with the Sirui Mars anamorphic set, best combo out there for affordable cinematic footage.
ОтветитьThanks for this honest review. I’m not sold on the GH6 either, but was thinking about adding a GH5S to compliment my two GH5s. I’m curious to know how much better picture I can get from a locked off GH5S. Thanks guys
ОтветитьYou probably shouldn’t upgrade until you have plateaued (and learned every single function) on your current camera).
Very wise words!!
Interesting talk! I work with a G9 and a GH6 and occasionally a GH5.
Loved the talk about the lenses
MF talks = Mother Fucker Talks 😂
Ответитьyou can shoot 1080
ОтветитьGreat commentary video. I believe i will get the Gh5 mk2 now.
ОтветитьIt's not the camera we need. It's not the camera we deserve. It's the camera that makes us ask questions, uncomfortable questions, about ourselves as film makers and photographers.
ОтветитьWell with it still only using contrast based a/f, and with the banding problem aand with worse image quality for stills at least.
With all those things to consider it's not an upgrade.
Enjoyable video guys. The GH6 is definitely overkill for a lot of people but the 4k 120p looks so good. I love using it but the GH5M2 is most of the way there. TBH I regret selling my GH5S cameras. Those are the hidden gems of the MFT world for studio work. Well done guys.
ОтветитьThe GH5II is practically the ideal camera for literally any level of need. I am confidently sure future firmware updates could make it even more so for years to come. I am more likely to add another GH5II than a GH6 anytime soon, as it’s performance and versatility are just so amazing…
The M.Zuiko Pro series of standard zooms, and the set of f1.2 primes complement the GH5II so incredibly well. However, the recent acquisition of the pair of Leica f1.7 zooms at a discount was too good to pass on. I have discovered that the 25-50mm range more suitable for my style of filming, so the new Leica 9mm/1.7 may be an excellent pairing for a simple two lens guerrilla film kit. Could also add the M.Zuiko 75mm/1.8 for good measure with the size and weight being negligible…
If the situation dictates a more wide scene, then the 10-25mm and the 75mm/1.8 make a great paring, with the 45mm/1.2 for extreme measure…
Another thing, people often over look the fact that the GH5/ GH5II also film 6K Anamorphic, only the GH5II does it better due to the upgraded Venus engine processor…
…
Brilliant chat guys. I really valued this and found it immensely helpful. Intimate interviews are a major focus for me these days and it’s important to put thought into the focal length. I’d love to hear you guys discuss two camera interviews (on subject) and thoughts about different ways to set that up.
ОтветитьTimecode sync alone is worth the upgrade if you’re going to go multicam.
ОтветитьRecently used the 10-25 but found it so extremely crisp that I found another route. Use now the metabones 0,64x and the canon 16-35mm 2.8 II and that gives me a 10,5-22,5 f1.8 zoom lens. Not really 10-25 but when a bit more zoom is needed think the video crop in 4k works welk enough with its 2.8x
ever tried that lens ?
