Sadly Unity is really not free. Its more like renting instead of owning. And even then their "so called free" is really not free because they have their watermark everywhere.
And in order to get rid of the Unity watermark, you have to cough up $1,800 for the application and then pay monthly rent to keep using it.
People are better off using Blender, as its open source and completely free. most people are better off using Blender.
As someone else pointed out and ill repeat their exact words again.::
Lease usage or rent" is more like it. Buying means Owning your copy. That is not the case with Unity3D.
Second, Free is more like a demo and only seems to work for about a week and then is pretty much garbage space taken up on your computer.
30day activation allows you "Some" pro-features but then goes away after that point in time at which you revert back to the so called Free Version which is utterly useless for the most part,
or the Pro Version you "Lease," not Buy. You Buy a game. You buy a Car. You Buy Clothing. You Lease Unity. Big difference.

Thanks for sharing your journey with us! Was really interesting! <3 I'm just about to finish my degree in Business Information Technology and I'm making a short "serious game" about human enhancement - while learning how to use Unity etc. I realized how fun it is and now I approach the journey to become an AAA game developer :D :D

Hello CM! I would like you to make a video about a new game that is being developed on Unity called Earth2 (earth2.io). Can you please tell us what your thoughts are about this project and if you would like to join their developers team. The game is like simcity on Earth with resources and buildings where you can buy and sell properties with real money. I believe they are looking for developers to join and create content in the game. Maybe players will be able to place their own games into the platform and earn real money. Please do check it out cause I would like to know what your thoughts about the game are. Thanks very much.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge, there's a lot of useful information in your videos. One thing I notice from watching this video is your art style needs improvement. They're not bad but people do judge by the cover so a better art style will appeal to a wider range of audience. Have you considered making a team to create games?

The type of games youre good at programming and concepts would have bin a lot better and would have made better profit and fame iff you made them with Pixel art instead if the type of art style you went with, im sorry but with all your games the core was great, but they looked like cheap adobe flash games in terms of aesthetics there for you losing many players just but them watching a 1 picture of the game. Pixel art is much more favored and loved and your game cores and ideas wer realy awsome.

Very inspiring video and journey! Thanks for sharing the story in total Code Monkey! I myself have been a Unity hobbyist for past 8 years and never really wanted to commit on a project to make it real or "product". But something has changed in the past few months and I'm gonna go for it. This video is one big inspiration for that. Among other stories ofcourse.

My guess was the negative reviews impacted the sales for your sequel zombie game.
Once people noticed the flaws, it was hard to convince them to buy again.
You make nice games that look like all they need is more polish in UI and simplicity.

Man, I love your tutorials and video, but the reason why your games did not do well is the artstyle. Go with pixelart which will probably double your sells. Also good idea to hire art advisor or work with an artist on the priject. It is sad to see good games fail because they are hard to look at.
