If I were casting for the movie version of my book, I'd want Diane Lane to play 39 y/o Joanne, Taylor Lautner to play 16 y/o Alex, and Dakota Fanning to play 14 y/o Shimmer. So, that's why photos of them are used and not because I own rights to the images.--That should cover the whole "fair usage" exception to copyright infringement thing.
