Rome’s Capital was move to Constantinople in 330 A.D. by Emperor Constantine before the Sack Rome
ОтветитьA dirty, backstabbing barbarian, nothing more. Stilicho should've destroyed him when he had the chance.
ОтветитьWhy do all movies depicting late Rome use legionary armor from like 1st-2nd century? By 410 Roman soldier was visually indistinguishable from the barbarian soldier, and often a barbarian himself. They wore long sleeves and pants, their shields were oval and round, and helmets were ridge helmets not these old imperial-style ones.
ОтветитьGoats: "One day we will defeat you."
Eagles:"You will. Once Alaric will have hairy face and smell like goats. "
lol when rome was at weakest. try to take rome when she was at full strength, alaric.
ОтветитьOhh There is a pattern here, many of the military comanders of barbarian origin trained into roman culture and legionary tactics turn against rome, Arminius, Alaric...
ОтветитьIs it me or is their fighting choreography is better than Hollywood portrayals wars of antiquity?😂😂
ОтветитьRome was destroyed from within
ОтветитьThis is the shame. This is end of west. This is a day we must always remember and take revenge.
ОтветитьVae Victis!
ОтветитьListening to you guys call them barbarians makes it insufferable
Ответитьone of the greatest moments in human history. Lets hope history repeats itself.
ОтветитьMeh, overly dramatized and perhaps not true to the real history.
From what I've read, Rome had already been defenseless for years, and in fact had been forced to pay off barbarian hordes on several occasions in the years prior to its sacking. It doesn't seem Alaric had any desire to sack the city and extinguish the eternal flame of the ancient world as in 408 he lifted his first siege of the city in exchange for a substantial ransom payment. In 409 he lifted his second siege in exchange from the Roman Senate appointing a new emperor to be his puppet. But by 410 the city had nothing left to give, so his troops sacked the city, apparently walking through the gates almost unopposed.
The damage done by the Visgoths was light relative to the carnage the Vandals would wreak decades later.
And FTR the crucifix didn't start to become a Christian symbol until the 6th Century.
Age of Empires 2 campaign brought me here. Really awesome to see the reenactment of it.
ОтветитьRome could’ve had a great ally in Alaric and the Goths if they treated them better. The Goths even came as friends because they wanted to defend themselves against the Huns.
ОтветитьOkay but I don't think Alaric was this beautiful
ОтветитьAnd so began the cucking of the romaboo
ОтветитьAlaric was one of the greatest men in history.
ОтветитьThis video fails to mention the ineptitude of the Roman government; Rufinus, Eutropius, Olympius, etc...
ОтветитьWhere I can find full vedio??
ОтветитьAve Legionari in Italiano prego. è la vostra e la nostra storia . non posso aggiungere o togliere nulla di ciò che commentate non parlo inglese
ОтветитьThe actors in this portraying the Visigoths is laughable. The Visigoths were massive compared to Roman soldiers. Towered over them. And had muscle mass the Romans dreamed of having. Looked nothing like this small boyish looking actor.
ОтветитьBARBARIANS ARE BLONDE VERY WRONG VIDEO HERE
ОтветитьPoor voice acting 🤦♂️🤦♂️ too modern 🤣
ОтветитьW camera man
ОтветитьAlaric did nothing wrong.
ОтветитьCame for Male V stayed for the history. RIP Alaric.
ОтветитьKing Alaric "The Bold" of the Visigoths, father of Ataulf or Athaulf.
ОтветитьMost European are descendant of Anti-Roman tribe
ОтветитьCostumes aren’t accurateZ The Roman soldiers hadn’t worn those uniforms for over 200 years. Imagine a movie about WW1 with a bunch of red coats wearing powdered wigs firing muskets at each other.
ОтветитьRotten to the core sick society, worst of the worst in all mankind history, they got what they deserved..
ОтветитьROME was NOT the greatest city of the history of planet earth. lmao!
Ответитьdirty move
ОтветитьInaccurate; They (The Romans) are wearing early helmets.
ОтветитьWhat a chad
ОтветитьAlaric Changed The Cause Of History
ОтветитьWhen a king is more serious and Brutaly honest to his power and his people. The Greatest of the humanity, King Alaric
ОтветитьAnd then they were Romans...
ОтветитьThis will not happened if Stilicho Did Not assassinated
ОтветитьAll the Trojan Horse thing is BS. The very citizens of Rome and the Church opend the gates due to starvation, but not before making an agreement about not looting the churches or other significant temples, and keeping the violence to a minimum extent. The sack of Rome by the Visigoths was much less violent than people and some lousy historians think. On the other hand, the sack of Orleans by the Huns, that was a really bloody show.
ОтветитьOne very important information that most people forget (or don't know) is that when the goths invaded Rome, the city was not as important as it used to be. Probably the goths wouldn't have succeeded if Rome (the city) was still the center of Rome (the empire). The capital city and the de facto center of power was moved to Constantinople one century before, far, far away from Rome (the city). It took another thousand years to really displace Rome (the empire) on where it center of power was.
