Though this may appear to be a war story it is, first and foremost, an adventure story. Famously adapted for the cinema (starring Michael Caine) this radio adaptation showed up in 1990, not long before Jack Higgins published a bestselling sequel, 'The Eagle Has Flown'. That sequel was immediately turned into a radio play with the same cast as this one - and I hope to be putting that on the channel in a couple of days...
