Wow..7Kgs base weight for a long distance hike, that is incredible........I carry 16 Kgs just on an overnighter 2 hours walk from my house. LOL
Ответитьcould you share your gear list spread sheet on your blog?
Ответитьreally helpful and very inspiring , thankyou for all of your videos .
Ответитьhi Richard, great video. Just some comments and thoughts . As you say I will leave the bivy at home as I have the Tyvek sheet. Regarding the water system, I will leave the syringe at home, what people do is carry as smart water bottle as his main bottle of water and back flush the filter with the easy drinking top of it , it works .
I do the same as you with the water proof trousers , they are my only trousers.
I used to carry the solar panel, I tried 2 types 3 years ago. Personally I waste of time. Put your phone in save energy mode ang get a 8000 amp batteries..................specially in pyriness that you are close to town to recharge. Very happy with that system. I think solar panel is a nice idea but need more development.
Compass, do you need a big one?I always carry a very small emergency compass without declination stuff, as you, I use the mainly the phone for aviation with back up printer maps.
maybe I will bring half of the electrolytes you carry as emergency, personal preferences.
Other idea to low your weight. your 2 insulation jackets have hoodies. Do you need hoodies when you have a hat and also a hoodie in your water proof jacket??
just some ideas, nice videos.
I should have watched this video before asking you about your stove. I often use an alcohol stove too but I've never seen that cone contraption for burning twigs that you have. I'll have to check that out. But following up on my question about your ability to buy stove fuel, I wonder if you were able to replace the items you lost or broke on your trip. You lost a knife and broke your tent pole or something. Were there outfitters in the villages you passed through that could help you out with those things?
ОтветитьDid you bring a stove?
ОтветитьHi! Thanks for the very helpful video & beautiful trek videos. I like your sense of humour & laugh :D You seem like the person to ask for advice (layering). You went with the Patagonia and OR for wet weather and only used the down for dry conditions? How did the insulation work out? I'm finding it tough to pack light for these conditions. But you did it! Thanks for the inspiration!
ОтветитьMilliampere-Hours, not Milliamperes.
ОтветитьRichard, is the Patagonia Hoody R1 the new techface edition, or standard one?
ОтветитьHi Richard, thank you, great review of your kit, some good tips in there, just wondered what your total carry weight was like. I aim to do the whole GR10 in August, so will be generally a bit lower altitude than you. I am trying to decide on a sleeping bag, my present ME Firefly at 600g is rated -1 but cold at 0deg. Do you reckon a 400g fill 900 down at -6 comfort limit 700g would be about right?
ОтветитьWhat a great, honest review. I love seeing other people's gear. The foot stuff sounds like a good investment so I've ordered some to try :)
Ответитьhow many humanoid hikers have slipped off cliffs in Rock hard Boots = a Lot /
Ответитьhi, what is the reference of the coffee filter ?
ОтветитьNice, a ULA pack. I love the way mine say's "Made in my garage in Utah".
ОтветитьHi Richard thanks for all your videos which I have been enjoying over the last few days. Do you know if anyone sells the Caldera stove in this country or did you get it sent over from the states? I'm hoping to do the HRP this summer and it looks like a great piece of kit.
