Thanks Ted. Great video. Sound advice as usual.
Ответить1st clip I liked better. Superb.
ОтветитьI, personally use Davinci Resolve Studio and am not familiar with LumaFusion. I imagine it would be suitable for those who don't want to deal with a complicated interface. Good info for those that struggle with what is good cinematic footage.
Of the two train scenes I am drawn to Version 1. I have done B&W footage in the past and it has its niche under certain circumstances. Happy Holidays Ted 😎👍
Hey Ted! Every time I watch one of your videos, my spirit is lifted up and I have a smile on my face. I am just starting my winter break from teaching and this was the perfect video to get me going. I liked both videos, if I have to vote, it will be #1. As others have stated, I am using Davinci Resolve because it is free. I also use Adobe Premier Elements, which is non subscription, for quick edits. Your tips are spot on. Keep it simple, yet it makes a huge difference. Wide shot, medium shot, close in, and don't forget about cropping! Looking forward to your next creation!
ОтветитьThe tip about cropping into the frame was something else man. I didn’t know this was possible, or so easy. I do mostly Timelapse videos with an action camera. I gave this crop into the frame thing a go with my basic ken burns thing after watching this vid. Super useful info. Thank you.
ОтветитьDefinitely like version one better. I like the song and the film noir feel. Did you shoot that last shot in the first version yourself? That’s a great shot! Either way keep it up brother.
ОтветитьGreat tutorial Ted. Loved how those two trains snaked towards each other with the white squares of the windows popping out in the darkness. 👏🎅 Have a great Christmas Buddy.
ОтветитьAwesome Ted! Looking forward to the upcoming editing tips and tricks. I liked both final cuts the same. The black and white gives it one flavor while the color gives it another natural flavor. Guess it's an individual taste. Although I do prefer your black and white video and photos with the water scenes.
ОтветитьAwesome video Ted! Thanks! 🙏🏻 The 2nd version is brilliant the first version just makes me speechless! 🤷🏼♂️🤐
ОтветитьI like the first clip
ОтветитьHappy Holidays Ted, thank you for everything you do for us.
ОтветитьAnother great video that shows, that cinematography has little to do with special LUT's, filters, "better" cameras and so on. BTW I prefer version 1. I had just another idea, Ted: What, if you would have placed the camera just a bit more to the ground to hide the tiny portion of the train coming from the right behind the other one. The result may have looked like both trains would have melted into eachother. Just an idea. Merry Christmas.
ОтветитьVersion 1 . Thanks fo some great tips, which I will also apply to still photo editing , particularly with regard to isolating the subject and getting rid of distractions🙂
ОтветитьOne
ОтветитьHi Ted, version one is better. I've been using Lumafusion on my Chromebook and need to start using key frames.
ОтветитьYour work is solid, both in content and presentation. Both versions are amazing work, each serving a different purpose. You are an artist. The first version is my pick. Your influence is effective. Thank's!
ОтветитьI have been using CapCut to edit. What do you think of CapCut? Happy new Year Red.
ОтветитьOnce again and as always, Really great episode Ted!! I vote for version #1. It just feels warmer and I feel more connected to it as a viewer. Thanks for always putting out amazing content brother!
ОтветитьFabulous as always Ted! Thank you! 👍👍
ОтветитьHi Mr. Nemeth,
Greetings from Germany,
Version one looks cooler to me.
All the best in 2024.
Freddie
Version 2 - I enjoy all the colors of the city. Night flying is awesome and scary, but obviously pays off!!!
ОтветитьThe B&W edition is outstanding! 🖤🤍✨ Another great episode, Ted! 👍🏻
Thanks for the tip: I need to play more with cropping. I do use zoom-in, zoom-outs (Ken Burn's), but mainly on the timelapses, to provide a gentle motion into the image, but commonly do not crop the drone footage.
Wow… this was amazing. I knew something was missing, I just didn’t know what it was exactly. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
ОтветитьI love all the videos you pump out. Always coming over and revisiting some of my favorites. I wonder what your technique to gathering footage is. I always seem to get back from a spot thinking I have enough, or even too much footage or photos. But then when I get back, and onto my editing software, I realize I should have done so many more angles, or shots. In the last case, I was a couple hours of a drive away. So I am trying to get something good knowing I needed more.
ОтветитьI was intending on preferring the colored version (I kind of prefer the oversaturation normally…) but I’ve got to say that the alomost B/W version gives out more drama/emotion.
I’m also glad I’ve found someone else that uses Lumafusion. Easy-intuitive-full of features you need.
THANKS TED!!!
Hey Ted new subscriber here. What Ipad do you use for editing? Thanks buddy
ОтветитьVersion two. For me personally, the story is the city's nightlife and the different colors of lights highlight the vibrancy of said nightlife.
ОтветитьAnother excellent video with great tips. The "2 inch putt" has stuck with me the most, I love the quote and the reasoning behind it. There's so much more to this than just a perfect sunset nested in a city skyline. Always appreciate your realistic view of things.
ОтветитьGreat tutorial, both versions at the end were really nice. Would it have been possible to have the background in a hyperlaps while the trains crossing would be in the slow realtime speed? Just curious, i thought that would look cool..
Ответить#2 is very moody
ОтветитьGreat content! It gave me really awsome insights! Is there any alternative to Lumafusion that works on a Macbook instead? Thanks!
ОтветитьWhats your drone settings for low light?
ОтветитьWhy shoot in 24fps? I feel like it is a outdated standard. Screens generally have a refresh rate of 60fps. Thus 30fps is 2 frames per refresh. 24fps allows for 3 frames per refresh on some frames and 2 on other, not being ideal.?
ОтветитьAwesome
ОтветитьExcellent video Ted! Thank you!
ОтветитьVersion one is outstanding. Not to say version two is bad in any way. Version one just gave me a good feeling .
ОтветитьWhy d cinelike vs d log? I am genuinely curious as to why you pick that.
ОтветитьReally enjoying your approach!!! Love your input on good cinematography tips! option 1 was loaded with emotion...!! I have a question..very practical...I am editing on PPro CC with 32 ram PC, even tho footage are in proxy, it is soooo slow..how to deal with this...should i cut the filming into shorter sequences while flying?? !!
ОтветитьTop content 👑so much value 🎥🌎💪❤️
ОтветитьI took your advice on drone setting to Auto and used the Editing Software you’re using. Wow, very simple and my footage came out amazing. Showed it to couple of my friends. Saying that’s the best you’ve done coloring wise. Editing just flowed so easy. Like butta. Your tutorials are amazing. Keep up the great work. Thank you again!!!!!
ОтветитьAnother great video full of nuggets of wisdom. I did my first two proper drone flights over the weekend so I'm only now realising just how much there is to think about when your flying camera is aloft. I'm looking forward to reviewing the footage and hopefully your tips here will help me make some thoughtful edits 🙂
ОтветитьVersion 2
ОтветитьI have to say version 1 all the way I just loved the old screen reel it was priceless.Needless to say they were both awesome my flying cowboy bro! keep up the awesome lessons yet another awesome class with the sex panther brother....
Ответитьwow your advise is awesome! thank you
Ответить1
ОтветитьI’ve been filming trains for 5 years with a drone, you have some good points. One thing I learnt is let the scene tell the story don’t overcompensate with useless effects.
ОтветитьYour really talented and a marvelous tutor
