The reason that box set has the European version of The Shining is because it's a UK set. You can see the bbfc age certificate.
I think it was around 2015-16 they finally released the US version officially in the UK as an extended edition.

Interesting podcast, but i really don't get following up Kubrick with Anderson, Nolan, and Cameron. They're not in the same class at all. Why not Hitchcock, Spielberg, Coppola, John carpenter, the coen brothers, or almost anyone else? There are hundreds of directors that are objectively more influential than those guys.

Platoon is superior to Full Metal Jacket in every conceivable way. I’m a fan of Kubrick but if you watch both of those movies you realize how overrated FMJ is and is downright bad most of the time, especially the second half.

This is a really brilliant debut episode guys. Its obvious that a lot of work and research went into this, and you pull it off with style and grace.

Just before the last words of Eyes Wide Shut we see their daughter apparently walk away with strangers.
