I'm mid a full strip down respray on my first hobbyist job with an R500. It's been a steep but good learning curve with the R500. Laying the clear well isn't easy but I'm gradually getting a technique down. I'd be very interested at this point in time to try an expensive clear gun to see if it might actually be easier to get better results. Brian is right though. Unless you have great conditions to paint in, the clear is an absolute magnet for dust particles/debris so you have to heavily cut it back and polish it back up. I've ended up doing two "flow coat" coats. Partly so I know there's a hefty thickness of clear to cut back for the final result but doing this has also given me more practice spraying clear.
ОтветитьBrian please do a spray out of different brands of clear coat from cheap clear to expensive clear coat
ОтветитьHey hey Brian. The Honda S2000 is one of my favorite cars. I definitely love that color. Thanks for the in-depth look at all of the spray guns. I’ll have to give the static gun a go. You definitely love your spray guns. I really enjoyed your colab at SEMA with Bryan from Eastwood. Great company for sure. Take care brother.
ОтветитьI used the Amazon gun and wow
ОтветитьAfter buying a few budget guns myself and a few years learning how to set up the gun, i find myself using a very cheap gun most of the time. In short, u need to know your gun in and out until you get the setting right for the gun. You dont need super expensive gun to perfect your paint job. Expensive gun will surely helps as they are built to perfection but if you know understand how to set a gun properly, then any gun will do with exception of very poorly underpar design and quality. Your channel have helps me a lot, been subscribing to your channel quite a long time. Thanks.
ОтветитьHey Brian, I appreciate you kindly sir . I really like the harbor freight black widow 1.7 for primer . I haven’t seen you use that spray gun or the 1.3 . Maybe I haven’t came across them . Anyways stay blessed 🤝🏽🙏🏽
Ответить@Paint Society would you ever consider teaching "peelable automotive paint" AkA Liquid wrap? The AutoFlex stuff sprays out of an HVLP, you can get OEM colors, and is awesome because you can get to the fun stuff, actually spraying the car and not a bunch of sanding unless there is bodywork required or failing clear. I think you would be good at it, get a kick out of it, and could take your channel to the next level plus help a lot of DIY'rs determine if it could be something for them. @dipyourcar is pretty much the gatekeeper it seems like and in FL as well 🤔🤔🤔
ОтветитьHow do u feel about the cheaper paint guns that say they can do it all..paint, prime, seal and lay clear just by changing the tips. Like the Aero pro R500 with 1.3, 1.5 and 1.7 tips. Also maybe do a follow up video explaining to us newbies what the differences are between a $90 gun, a $900 gun and a mid price gun, to help us know what features we're looking at. Thanks for taking the time to educate us. 😊
ОтветитьLove the videos. Very informative.
ОтветитьAmateur painter here. I have two Devillbiss Flg5 guns 1.8 1.3 and a 1.4 needle and tip.
And a iwata Bellaria 1.3.
For the smaller compressor guys check out the ANI Compact and R150.Excellent spray guns and easy on air.
ОтветитьIm surprised Luma 3 exodus didnt make list
ОтветитьWhat camera do you use?
ОтветитьBrian, I am always amazed at how you can compress years of experience into a short lesson with so many nuggets of knowledge expressed so simply. I finally got a chance to spray some clear with the iwata kiwami 4 that I bought a while back after your review and it is amazing for the price. I see why you favor the iwatas for clear. The angle of the camera on the first clear coat was great and I could really see the overlap passes really well.
ОтветитьI’ve only used the 3m gun 1.3, sata 5500 1.4 I, and Sata 4400 mini 1.0 but I have a couple guns I need to try. Where would you place the lph-400?
Ответитьdo you ever use touch up or mini hvlps? I deal with small parts and I like the iwata lph80, and passche. Just wondering if you had a review out?
ОтветитьHi, Brian What kind of neutralizer gun do you use?Where can I get one
ОтветитьLove these videos! How cool to see the different types of paint guys and their use.
ОтветитьWould you still recommend an HVLP setup for a beginner or this with a compressor? Im nervous about what filters i need on a compressor and no risk with an HVLP
ОтветитьI hope you test ANI f160 spray gun
ОтветитьI started out with the Devillbiss FLG4 n kept practicing on my own car. Watching the gunman n other great painters showing you how they painted til I learned n got good with a cheap gun. Then I bought a Iwata LS400 to see if I could get really good results n I couldn’t be more pleased !!Thanks for all the videos n tips, has helped tremendously 😁
ОтветитьThank you. This video answered all my questions that were pending from the last video. I'm glad you turned it into one. Really good information and on point. I'm glad to be a subscriber.
ОтветитьThank you for this video Brian ! How would you compare the luma exodus gun compared to your mid and high end guys?
ОтветитьAre you suppose to always sand after your first coat of primer ?? And what # of sanding should you start with and move up to ?? Beginner wanting to learn Ty
ОтветитьWhat happened to the Meji Finer Core gun? Isn't it the same gun as the Luma 3 Exodus? It sells for around $300 on Ebay which would make it a good candidate for a midrange gun. Kandyman loves Luma guns.
ОтветитьLs400 sucks for metallics I prefer the Sata x5500
ОтветитьIf your in a water base booth 3m with a 1.2 is all I use for sealer and base and my iwata for clear getting profesional results!
ОтветитьSaw just a few pieces of dirt and you are taken care of it there at the final part of the video but I'm just not a fan of the jacket that you wear I don't like the way it opens at the bottom and potentially could hit the vehicle I think I would rather see a jumpsuit
ОтветитьDude what about buying paint? I’m wondering where to get primer, base and clear?
ОтветитьI enjoy your videos so much! I am just starting out and you keep me motivated 😊💙
Ответитьmist kolor to much gren on ruf
ОтветитьMy instructor loves the LP400
ОтветитьAs a diyer, I would like to know what kind of cheapest air compressor can do the job with d1 drizzle that kind of gun.
ОтветитьNo Satajets Brian?
ОтветитьDo you have links to these guns and accessories for them? Thank you
ОтветитьWhat setting would you suggest I use on my WS-400 Series 2 1.3 clear gun? I’m spraying Tamco 4100 Glamour Clear and can’t get it to lay flat
ОтветитьThank you Brian! Another great production filled with helpful information and recommendations! Have a happy Thanksgiving 🦃
ОтветитьGreat vid! THX for actually using an inexpensive gun, and explaining the results, and the thought process, real time!
ОтветитьYour videos are second to none in encouraging the art of the possible. One issue I didn't notice you touch on here for the DIY sprayer is cfm. For example the 3M gun seems unlikely to be usable on an average DIY compressor?
EDIT: I’ve gone back and watched some of your older videos and you cover this issue repeatedly. Kudos
Im surprised you didn’t mention the ANi F160! Need to review that gun for sure. Its around $150 and sprays just like any top end gun with the most affordable replacement parts.
ОтветитьAftèr 8 yrs of painting and trying several guns over that time I feel Devilbiss & ANI are the best with some Iwata being pretty good too. If you can't afford those brands the Porphis is best bang for your buck and I find myself using them more than my Devilbiss DV1 guns. I use my ANI 200 black Skull Edition that comes with 3 caps and digital manometer a lot too
ОтветитьI am looking at the d1 drizzle for my first gun thanks to your video
ОтветитьWhy not the dv1 for basecoat, I am devilbiss from the gti pro days, left the game for around 10 years
Just gotta do a few jobs now tho,
All Aussie stuff
Ve ssv ute closed door
Hg kingswood full paint
And a old bucket hilux, probably a lazy closed door job after a dozen beers
So I was thinking the dv1
And whatever data gun for primer I have on the tool box
It will be in a shed, however, dust will not be a issue, it will be sealed off and then an extraction fan
What are your thoughts pal
What is name of the gun for primer?
Ответить& can you give me the name of gun that you paint over the primer please & can you give me the name of the gun for clear coat please?
ОтветитьCan you give me the name for the gun for first primer please?
ОтветитьIs primer & sealer the same?
ОтветитьWhat type of gun you use for base?
ОтветитьAny chance you you could show how to repair a burn through in single stage?
ОтветитьQuestions, is there a budge gun that can be use for all the materials? What kind of care do they require between waiting times, and also the different materials? For example, if 15 minutes of waiting time is require between paintings, do is required for the paint no to dry? Never done it so I know nothing,,, thank you
