I agree with BRK quality control issues. I was on a forum chat with a guy sharing a pic and story of a knife with a hefty half-moon shaped chip out of it when trying to make a feather stick and Mike Stewart laid into him saying he doesn't know how to use a knife correctly and started calling him names. It was very clearly a bad heat treat job as you could see the grain structure of the steel in the massive chip area. I'll never give them my money. Mike, reluctantly agreed to repair/replace dude's knife after getting totally flamed in the chat by everyone.
ОтветитьMora Garberg

Benchmade 710... or maybe the Spartan Pallas (I'm waiting to hold one before deciding if I want it)
Varustelka Terrava Skram 240... Or maybe a good Kukhri... hard to figure this one out
I'm still searching for my perfect 4.75inch ish bladed knife. Right now I guess either my Varusteleka Jakaaripukka 110 or a Becker BK16
guys, I have been watching your videos almost since the beginning ... you certainly have been the cause of me lusting after a bark river for many years and this week Knives and Tools finally had one in stock that I couldn't refuse ... new model, euro bushcrafter (walnut handle, Magna-cut) ... after years of just a Mora I finally own a properly heirloom quality bushcraft knife. The first thing I did with it is make a baton just like you guys always use. Thanks for the many many hours of entertainment.
Ответитьnow they be doing a game of guessing the knife just from the handle while blind folded for sure
good vid guys!
1. Biegler bladeworks custom Archon tanto balisong.
2. Pro-tech TR-4 battleworn grey magnacut.
3. Griffin knives X series.
4. My great grandfathers original pattern buck 110.
5. My great great grandfathers Maher and grosh hawkbill swayback slipjoint.
You guys are just brilliant in this video🎉
Ответитьlike how you gyys reached to the conclusion! for me Esee SK6, that same Rokka Korpisoturi and 3 folding knives, probably all from Spyderco
ОтветитьBark River is for me also "out of the game once and forever", had 4 in the past .... only 1 had no issue. Since then everything from Sweden, FK for sure, Casström, EKA ... have all of them, not a single issue and the "one and only" knive would be a F1 for me for sure, no doubt about it. The oldest one is EKA H8, over 25 yrs ON DUTY and travelled 1000s of km, served well every single time. Similar is true for the FK S1. Wha I would NEVER EVER buy again? -> Knives made in US, and here esp Bark River
Ответить1) the accent is easy on the ears / a change from the usual English ones we hear 👍 No. issue. at all understanding you guys.
2) content is solid
3) big man needs to Google Turkey nipples 😂
🏴
Current 5 top knifes out of the 7 i have. My logic on buying them was the same as yours on this episode though.
Extrema Ratio Selvans
Boker mini tracker
Joker Nomad
BPS Knifes HK1
Nextool Flagship Pro
EDC: Hinderer XM-18
Chopper/Batoner: Nepalese Kukri
General Purpose/Bushcraft: Mora Garberg w/leather sheath
Kitchen/Food Prep: Becker BK-5
Beauty: TBD (All of mine are utilitarian in nature. I want a nice looking production knife, potentially by bark river... but they can't seem to get their QC together)
Why 5….5 hands?🤷♂️
ОтветитьCan you please test the “Big Beaver” by Reini Rossmann
Ответитьfor a chopper or big knife it would be the Tops storm vector a chopping beast
ОтветитьCan you please make video or video series on ALL your knives?
Ответитьshouldn't have have tried putting them in categories. just pick 5 and give reasons and how you would use them as some knives uses overlap.
ОтветитьI can't believe you guys don't have a single winkler knives video
ОтветитьMy outdoor bag combo :
- Böker Vigtig vs wild, magnacut
- Lionsteel T6, CPM3V
- Hultafors Ekelund
But il love all my knives. My BK2, my Lionsteel M5 3V, could be also in my bag... And all the others
1)Mora Garberg stainless
2)casstrom forest knife No10

4)swiss army knife victorinox soldiers knife
5)swiss army victorinox swiss champ
Can any of those knives withstand bullets? 🤔

ОтветитьHow do we enter the giveaway
ОтветитьGreat discussion, enjoyed it, loved the chat and some great selections
ОтветитьI see the narrowing it down to 5 my question is carry comfort and ease of access. But you guys got stuck on tasks. Personally I would put a flooding saw in and 4 knifes.
ОтветитьDang that’s a tough one
ОтветитьIf you could only pick 5 knives....6 minutes into the video, and I already see 30 knives on the table.......
ОтветитьGreat video, and inspiration for my own. NO kitchen knife though.

Ответитьgreat vid as always! what i really would be interested in is to see some footage of the Boker DBK bushfriend knife and sheath, especially compared to the TRC version... But as to this video, a top 5 of knives i handled/tested that comes to mind would be:
1: custom dark timber comanche
2: lefty spyderco PM2
3: custom claude bouchonville minowie
4: bark river bravo 1
5: wander tactical Uro
for me the one is my Ranger rd6 in 5160 steel. Perfect for chopping, slicing, feathersticks, and easy to sharpen. Indestructible. Just add a custom kydex sheath and grind the too thick handle.
ОтветитьMICKEY and his tiny Little Knives..
ОтветитьMy 5 from my collection
1) Ontario Rat-7(chopping/batoning)
2) Bark River Bravo 1 LT in 3v(bushcraft/cooking)
3) Esee 3 in s35vn(hunting)
4) Cold Steel Recon 1 spear point s35vn(edc)
5) Esee RB3(bushcraft)
😊thanks guys
Ответить"bushcraft" in Netherlands seems like an oxymoron?
"Bush"?
A couple of different sizes of puuko, a middle size SAK, a Width of kitchen knife, a Mora...
ОтветитьSo easy to me. No kitchen knive. 😂 I don’t own a single kitchen knife. What for? I kind of even despise the whole kitchen knife thing.
ОтветитьIf i had to survive a zombie apocalypse with only 5 knives to rely on, i would choose these:
Tajima Precision Craft GRI 360 (with disposable 9mm blades) - For precision tasks like opening plastic packaging & peeling electrical wiring, emergency surgery, etc.
A nameless 6€ Chinese stainless pseudo-damascus cleaver with a finger hole - Only for food prep.
LightMyFire FireKnife (Stainless blade by Mora; modified to have convex-edge and sharper spine) - Only for carving wood and starting campfires.
Rokka Korpisoturi (N690 Stainless version) - For general purpose use; every day carry.
J-P Peltonen Sissipuukko M95 (Cerakote version) - Mainly for batoning and chopping firewood.
I'm a big folding knife fan,
1. Spyderco PM2
2. Benchamde 940
3. We Banter
4. Spyderco Tenacious or Morakniv classic
5. Benchmade Mini Bugout
Question: fallkniven A1pro, or, A1x.
A1x weighs 400gm…!?!
1. Rokka korpisoturi
2. Cold steel SRK 3V
3. Any of my Lauri puukko's
4. Skarma 200
5. Mora Gardberg
I also have a Sissipuukko M07 on its way i bet it's going to be high up in my list and my possible WW3 pick 😂
I have a "chopping" knife I am very happy with, despite the weight of it. I don't have the option of buying knives often. Maybe one in 2 or 3 years. I have had this "chopper" for a few years and used it alot. It is still doing great. I have the Schrade SCHF45 Bowie Knife. I love it and will stick with it until something happens to it that I can't use it anymore, as far as a "chopping" knife goes. It's the same way for my small knife for many uses... I have stuck with the Mora Companion for a few years now. I love the knife and the sheath it came with!
