Please make a video on what happens to your Superannuation fund in an economic disaster, like a depression.

I don’t know what to invest in if there is an economic collapse. A lot of people are saying there will be an economic depression in 2032. How safe is our superannuation fund in a depression. What do we need to do to protect ourselves?

Can you still add to your super if you are retired and have an account based pension, and/or leave it in an accumulation fund?

My current superannuation fund is below $1,900,00.00 If I sell a investment property, not my principal place of residence, can I place funds into my super fund both utilising the $300,000 concessional down sizer provision and also the non concessional $120,000 provision including the bring forward 2 years ability of an additional 2 x $120,000. Thereby potentially in one financial year topping my super fund up a total of $690,000, (30K concessional, 300K downsized & 360K non concessional).
What will be the tax implications.

I like the account pension, with no tax, but flexibility of investment option.

Question: my Super calculator says i will have just over $1m if I retire at 67. With an incone of 55K pay year it will last me close to 40 years (whoch i probably wont live that long). I plan to retire at 60 (almost 48 now).
Building a home for the family atm which will mean i have a 300K loan that i probably wont pay off in 12 years.

1. Is it better to take a lump sum once retired to pay off the loan or...
2. Add a little extra to your super income stream to accomodate loan repayments (as money will stay in Super longer snd still benefit from compound interest.

Im sure there are many people these days that are or will be in a similar position.

At what age should you reconsider your Super being in Growth option and putting it in something more Conservative? Before retirement age.

People my age retiring have hit the jackpot for doing nothing. For 30 years we have ridden the wave of debasement of our currency and ridiculous housing bubbles. We are in the throws of what economist in history called the crackup boom. This is where the prices of everything, especially asset prices get out of hand. Everything is at all time highs.
Baby boomers take your ill gotten gains at the expense of your grandchildren and go buy some gold for them. This illusion of having more zeros on the end of your account is a government trick, that has been perpetuated on its citizens through all of history

Hi Chris, another good one.
Q. If I transfer a portion of my super balance say 70% to a pension based account, is the minimum annual withdrawal amount is calculated on the balance in that account? Say for example 4% pa on that 70% I transfer to the pension based account? Thanks

Hi Chris
Great content thanks very much.

What happens if at age 60, I start a tax free income stream, but 6 months later get bored and go back to work.
Does it reset the super, or does it lock that portion and keep paying the income stream, and tax free earnings?.
Cheers Leon

Good day Mr god guy! I'm 66 years old and still working. Currently we're building anew home in which we're going to live in during our retirement. It's true bank finances, this year we're planning to sell the house we are currently living and paying off the house we are building, and use what is left on the equity. Is that affect our situation in receiving the age pension. What do you think of our situation. Thanks and merry Christmas .

Amazing video, A friend of mine referred me to a financial adviser sometime ago and we got talking about investment and money. I started investing with $120k and in the first 2 months , my portfolio was reading $274,800. Crazy right!, I decided to reinvest my profit and gets more interesting. For over a year we have been working together making consistent profit just bought my second home 2 weeks ago and care for my family.

Have you forgotten something? When you retire (67+) and get the Age Pension, is is my understanding that money received under the tax-free Income Stream arrangement is viewed by CLink as income (in addition to deeming income on asset balance) and this will affect the amount of Pension you receive. True?

Hi Chris. Love your videos & advice. If I may, I have a question. I'm retired & now drawing a monthly pension from my superannuation account. All seems to be going well. My question: when I die, what will happen to my monthly pension & the account balance? My wife is my nominated beneficiary. Thanks.

As a soon retiree, keeping my 401k on course after a rocky 2024 is top priority. I have been reading of lnvestors making up to 250k ROI in this current crashing market, any recommendations to scale up my ROI before retirement will be highly appreciated.

Hi Chris, If my 72 yo partner is on a small pension (as we are just under the Asset limit test) and myself at 62 yo move some money from my Super A/c to a Pension A/c, this now becomes assessable in our Assets test for his pension test.
If I leave in Super A/c it isn't assessable as I'm under 65.
Have I got this right?

Useful info thanks. I'm retiring early 2026. I have a preserved State Super (NSW) super account, and another that was set up when I went into the private sector. Should I roll the State Super one into the private account, or have I waited too long? I assume I can roll over after my retirement date?

Does it just continue to accululate?
