While I feel this content 'should' be common knowledge - it's hardly ever common practice.  I can't stress enough how flabbergasted I am at how people are wasting their lives just going through the motions because they think they have to.

Wasting is a harsh word, but I feel strongly about it.

Keep fighting the good fight!

Loved & enjoyed so much this video Sarah Hernholm! I totally embrace the "not my story" tool..I think it's soo powerful,  we just have to acknowledge it! Yet the most powerful & most difficult to use is the "shut down the noise"..it implies a lot of self-esteem and knowing yourself pretty much well!

+Sarah Hernholm Being authentic is now for me as natural as breath itself. it all started with being tired of a purposeless life. Strenghttraining, meditation, spending time alone and getting to know oneself is how i got to it. i started realizing that I was a person with an own mind and could alter my own reality at the age of 18, now im 20. its all starts with questioning the obvious, it was really cool to hear this talk, you are an awesome woman !

Excellent talk! I've spent the past few years living an inauthentic life. It was a pain in the ass, until I had a major wake up call. This is great advice that I can definitely relate to!

I just wanted her to say the voices not the noise since this about self expression... As soon as you attempt to censor anuthing, some of that edge of realness gets rounded off he he. One of my goals is to avoid that censoring more amd more.

You only will be bad not being yourself if you are really bad at it. Really actors can impress and convince n any given situation so doesn’t matter who they are cause they are what they need.

the natural disposition is actually neutral. The natural baseline of the brain is neutrality, the state of observation rather than judgement, which happens when we are present and not worrying about the future and not dwelling about the past (presence doesn't mean not planning for the future). Happiness is a mood, sadness is a mood, and we can experience some moods more than others, but don't think you have to be happy all the time or you're not living correctly. Inner peace and neutrality is what we should strive for, with lots of moments of happiness and (some sadness) in between.

I would love to start a social movement around Flamboyant Self-expression through Appearance and looking any way we want no matter how different, and ending bullying, judgment, abuse, harassment, discrimination, etc. and yet self-promotion is very difficult. How can I make better use of social media in order to attract more followers? Acceptance of flamboyantly non-traditional self-expression through appearance, as well as different identity perceptions and ways of being and living which are often related to the flamboyant self-expression is a worthy cause. So many of us are still verbally abused in public and even physically abused in some cases, denied employment and educational opportunities, and generally viewed through a lens of negative stereotypes and also viewed and treated as less than other people. We have been called freaks, as though being different, even vastly so from these completely arbitrary norms, is a bad thing. Those who are extravagantly Gothic and/or Darkly-inclined, such as myself, are given looks of intense disgust, as though we are so offensively distasteful. Very flamboyant makeup and face paint in particular are things that are extremely important to me and that I particularly love to do activism about and self-advocate for, considering how meaningful this form of expression is to me and how I always love to wear it in public places, because it makes me happy to present myself this way in the world. Any helpful suggestions about how I can best start a social movement will be much appreciated. Thank you so much in advance for your suggestions.

I just woke up from a dream and it was about me organising a team of people to put together a clay scale model of the town I'm from as a way of teaching the current generation of kids about local history.
Now the concept was a bit out there, but the point of this dream was to show me that i have a passion and skill for putting people together to create community. I immediately looked up self expression and this was a perfect listen at the right time. Very clear message thank you.
I've been excited over the last 20 years of the idea to get school kids involved in a community cleanup programme that would teach kids about the environment, whilst simultaneously giving them money from recycling that they could use for anything they vote for, for the school.
I'm still needed an income at this point so that's a difficult challenge, but it's all got me thinking i'm turned on as a big picture thinker. I think this is my gift to the world.
Anyway, back to sleep, i wave work in the morning 🙂
