The combat style actually closer to Devil May Cry. In fact, I believe Square Enix plucked the combat dev who worked on Devil May Cry 5 about a year ago - and you can clearly see the result of it here.

Final Fantasy XVI has more common to Dragon Dogma than Witcher because it literaly has one of battle director from Dragon Dogma (and DMC).

As always I enjoy your passion for this game. I've never played FF games (I believe my daughter has), but you almost make me want to go out an get this one (well...as soon as I finish having fun with Horizon Zero Dawn...yes...I'm still playing that one...and that far behind the times). Be Blessed.

It looks amazing, is probably my most anticipated FF in years, FF7 remake too but it is an "old" game
FFXVI looks so refreshing and intriguing, I love the combat

I think people are complaining of the never ending story of turn based combat, and probably that it looks that there will be no party in this game, is a solo game. Personally I am hyped

I dont like the direction FfXVI is taking, i miss the sci fi, fantasy elements it just look so real and generic.

The funny thing about people saying this doesn't look like Final Fantasy...
If this exact trailer had been shown with a different title/music, everybody would be talking about what a blatant, unmistakable Final Fantasy rip-off it is.

I'm gonna be disappointed if there are no party members.. To me having a cast of unique party members is vital to any final fantasy game. The first thing I thought was that it looked like FF as Devil May Cry. Not really excited about that but I will wait and see what happens. ~

Totally agree with everything you said here. I'm really happy with the direction that 16 is going in and I'm excited to see how this game turns out.

I agree, I got major FF vibes from the trailer. It's the most FF feel I've felt from a trailer in a long time (not counting FF7R trailer from 2015 cause that's cheating 🤣)

You know, Yoshi P's favorite game is tactics ogre. Anyone familiar with it, sees the similar tone with ff16. Its also a dark, job class inspired, medieval fantasy game.

I don't get it. Isn't the Witcher 3 one of the best selling rpgs that's also critically acclaimed? Isn't Devil May Cry known for having very fun and engaging combat? Why are ppl saying its a Witcher, Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy hybrid as if that's a bad thing? Also Joshua just screams red mage.

FF16 in a nutshell: FF14 and FF15 had a child, FF4 and FF5 are its grandparents, and Devil May Cry 5 gets custody of it.
