Auburn vs. Ohio State PREDICTION | 2024 SEC Basketball Predictions

Auburn should crush Ohio State.

You guys talked about it a little bit, but Auburn is a really good shooting team from outside too, just like Ohio State.

And they have shown that they can shoot well from the 3 on the road/neutral, unlike Ohio State.

This will be a semi-home game for Auburn.

Another key is that in the past, Auburn didn't have a guard that can create their own shot.

This year, they have two, in Pettiford and Baker-Mazara, and yes, I'm counting CBM as a guard haha.

Just being real.

Memphis is also an incredible 3-point shooting team, and Auburn was able to make them extremely uncomfortable. Even tho Memphis still shot a really good percentage from 3, they didn’t take very many because of how well Auburn guarded them.

I think yall are right that the opponent 3 point percentage on the year is a bit misleading. A lot of team are having to shoot threes because they’re down big to Auburn. Even duke had to have a kid randomly go off for 6 threes to win that game, otherwise Auburn wins that one easily.

I think we see a similar game to what we saw with Memphis. Ohio State will probably make some threes in this game, but the combination of Broome down low, Auburn having Kelly, CBM, and Pettiford all shooting over 40% from three, and a solid defense will be too much for the Buckeyes.

Auburn wins 89-76

I don't feel great about this game with both teams having the week off. I think our depth edges them out, but I think it's close, 84-78.

Everybody keeps forgetting this is top 20 Net team. Johni will have to FTs because they are going to foul him like they did Edey last year when they beat Purdue.

I find it difficult to see how Ohio State keeps this close. Opposing Guards playing hero ball while Broome dominates is not a winning strategy against Auburn.

With the addition of Howard auburn doesn't have a single weakness. ANY guy can foul out and we have a backup.. that could be serviceable on any program in the nation.. there's not a deeper more skilled roster in the country. Unless Ohio St shoots an historically and probably record breaking performance AU should by 15ish
