My whole house is my dogs crate
ОтветитьJust left my 10 month old bulldog home alone for 2 hours with his crate door open for the first time.
Came home no damage
Happy days
Our dog, a 7mth old cockapoo just will not sleep in his..he will go in to retrieve toy's food etc and will go in on command, but absolutely no chance will he spend the night in there!😢
ОтветитьSorry totally disagree and not happening in my house. Had dogs for almost 60 years and never had nor used a crate. And I never will.
Never even heard of them, other than for shipping, until I lived in America so presume it came from there.
Followed this guys advice with our new lab pup. Absolute legend, saved us many headaches. Cheers mate
ОтветитьAww, look at the floppy ears.
ОтветитьNoooo no. Burglers, fires, burst pipe. Train your dog, get it a second dog for company. Redirect chewing to toys and hude bones. Offer your toolet training dog the outside often, praise regularly, have cleaning supplies on hand. It's not easy. If you want raising a dog to be easy do not get one. Get a guinea pig.
ОтветитьTry a beagle. Hates the crate.
ОтветитьAlways assumed crates were cruel like declawing a cat but it seems I was wayoff
ОтветитьI've never needed to crated our rescued 14 yr old staffy x but as soon we got our staffy puppy I made sure she was going to be crate trained and worked really good and she's now almost 3 years old and goes into her crate without us telling her to do so. Its a huge peace of mind when we have to leave her for longer periods knowing that our house stays intact too! But it needs to be done properly so they don't see it as a punishment and become anxious so for people that don't know or not sure how to train crate their dog get tips and watch videos that's what I did and worked fine
ОтветитьI have two GSDs. One loves her crate and will go there on her own to nap and relax. The other despises the crate and will not go in there, but she will go into the other dog's crate to sniff around every once in a while.
ОтветитьWhat breed is that?
ОтветитьWhat are your views on crate training an older dog? We have a rescue pup whi is near 7. He is a big lad and has a high level of stress and can be reactive. Would crate training help him? We have two other rescue boys but they are pretty chilled out. Unless they see a cat
ОтветитьNot to get inked.
ОтветитьEven if you don't use the crate all the time, it lowers the stress if they have to stay at the vet, or some other emergency arrises that requires them to be in a crate.
ОтветитьYep new house, new puppy, chewed new shoes, chewed new sofa especially when I nip out for a minute lol wouldn't change her for the world though she's a Malanois x Labrador
ОтветитьMy Debbie respects you and your content very much. She however, disagrees violently re: crate training. The majority of stupid humans who jail their canines for 10 hrs per day and all night is disgusting to her. They do not deserve canine companions. Let them buy a plush toy instead. We have been blessed with 6 large dogs during our lives together, training them with love so they wish to please us and behave well. No cratelover gets away without us expressing our belief to them. Losing battle though.
ОтветитьWhat a beautiful dog
ОтветитьHonestly, I’ve never crate trained any dog. I’ve had 3 so far
I’ve been fortunate, all my dogs were amazing pets, very obedient as long as .. exercise, training & positive energy in the house.
But this is my own personal experience
I’m not a dog trainer nor a behavioural expert.
Patience and persistence. Our pup didn’t take to the crate for months, but we kept at it and did small trips to go get groceries then slowly took the time up. A 2 mile walk for a 10 pound 9 month old pup before going in the crate and going out keeps them asleep no problem 😂
Now at night time, he signals that he’s ready to sleep by going in his crate. He will nap in there sometimes during the day too, but ultimately just wants to be close to us ❤
Definitely so my 13 week puppy a blue staffie named luna loves her crate I even obtained a 2nd crate for upstairs soild advice x
ОтветитьMy family always crate trains. For anxious dogs its provided them some call, and for they one we raised from puppy hood, it did make potty training him very easy even though he was the only one to outgrow his kennel.
ОтветитьForbidden in many places
ОтветитьIf you want a pet in a cage, get a hamster.
ОтветитьDoes it count if our bed is our dawgs “crate”?
ОтветитьImma keep it real with you...I got lost on the puppie's cuteness and had to rewatch the video
ОтветитьExactly. Every reputable and respected trainer and also breeder tells people that crate training is essential to the wellbeing of a healthy dog, but somehow there’s always some charlatan that knows next to nothing about training a dog that will tell you “oh it’s like prison for them to be put in crate”. Yeah no thanks, I think I’ll go with the professionals’ opinion!
ОтветитьYeah, I strongly disagree. My dog is only in a box when she's in the car. In the house she can move freely. She is 10 months old, and I managed to house train her as a puppy without locking her up at all. And my house is not destroyed. I just puppy proofed everything, tried to keep things tidy, and kept an eye on her to see what she possibly could get into. Then I put that away as well. You're just doing it cause it's convenient for you. Can't really see how being locked up in a cage for hours on end is a great experience for a dog.
ОтветитьMy new 14-week rescue loves his crate. He has been with us a little over a week and the best part of his day may be his morning and afternoon naps.
He walks right in and goes sound asleep and is so cheerful and happy when he wakes up. Bless crate training. ❤
I think I need serious training. Cause I completely ignored what you were saying the very second that cute puppy showed up on screen.
Ответитьmy dogs love their kennels ,it's their safe place that they sleep in and know they can go to if they're scared or stressed(from loud people in the house)
ОтветитьHow do you do this with 2 crazy puppies? 😭😂 pleaseee help
ОтветитьMy dog now is the first dog I’ve ever had that’s crate trained and I swear I’m never going back, the peace of mind knowing she is safe when I leave the house is amazing! She loves her crate and she gets treats in there all the time to help reenforce that it’s a good place not a bad one, and also never put her in there as punishment as I had to recondition the crate for her but now she barks at me if the door accidentally gets knocked closed and she can’t get in 😂😂
ОтветитьNo crates for us - the only crates our dogs experienced were the ones they were shipped in! Two of the dogs have a bedroom that they share, though; the other two share our bedroom.
ОтветитьI disagree, the very first thing and most important thing to teach a puppy is for them to learn their name. With that, you can get their attention and focus and can further any training.
ОтветитьIn my country it is illegal to keep your dog in s crate if it still has the door on. It is so you cant just shut your dog in there for hours and walk away.
But i guess you can do the same training without the door on.
I don’t have room for a crate
ОтветитьWorks just as well for new girlfriends, though might be illegal in some countries.
ОтветитьI argue all the time with people the benefits and importance of crate training. It helps so much with all aspects of my life, and their life.
ОтветитьEvery dog needs a safe den :)
Every owner needs a safe place for their dog(s) :)
Win - Win !
Our labrador loved her crate, it was her safe space when my 3 kids under five were on the rampage😅
ОтветитьWhen I was a first time novice puppy mom, I thought crates seemed mean. Now with 20 years of dog parenting under my belt, I wholeheartedly agree that appropriate kenneling is the way to go. It certainly makes life easier for the hoomans, but more importantly, my dogs know where their safe place is. We have 4 dogs and turned our den into the dog room with an enclosed open space kennel with crates on the inside. The dogs can take a break (always when the people family are eating - no table begging) and have their own crates to snug into if they don't want to mingle.
Ответить15 years with GSDs, no crate and no destruction. Treat them with respect and guidance, they will return it.
ОтветитьOK, I need help. I believe that crate training is good for dogs. My logic brain sees no harm. I support it, however, when I see an animal pinned up and I get sad face feelings big time.
How do we know that the dog is cool with being couped up like that? I am here to believe what I am told.
I see this often online in the english speaking canine world, but it's not legal here
ОтветитьAs an occasional show breeder my puppies leave me crate, lead, table and toilet trained minimum. Owners love it, their vets love it, there's no separation crying because they've learned a crate is their safe place, separate feedings, peace for a sleep when they need to rest and their place to enjoy a treat/chew in peace.
New owners are amazed, tell me they're the easiest puppies they've ever owned, I put the work in exploiting their natural instincts to give them a good experience when they leave me, I do it for the pups rather than the new owners.
Im 65, i ran a wolf dog rescue and rehoming center for a decade. I have never crate trained anything. I consider crate trwining to be for lazy people who don't understand their animal. If you have a lot of animals, crates can be a good way to allow each animal some personal space and privacy. But i also don't leave a puppy unattrnded for 12 hours a day either, which is why most people need a crate. 🤷♀️
ОтветитьCrate training? Dogs hate crates. Every
Dog hates crates. I won't be paying attention to your drivel and b.s. sorry but you are wrong
AGREE 100% give them a place of their own,a safe area, they will never mess in it !
ОтветитьWell i failed at that one then! The only time my puppy likes her crate is at night time or when fed. She doesn’t go in any other time even though she has free access during the day.
