Diversity allows for different ideas and perspectives, not exactly something your gonna get if you hire the same type of people with the same background. All these people are all probably well qualified for starters, they just pick people with talents or something they can contribute from the top people already

OK folks I get it, this SJW crap is getting really annoying (and at times hypocritical) but I think in this case what Lockheed Martin is saying is that if you are not a WASP male you should still feel encouraged to apply to work for them, and that who you are does not matter, that you should not limited your opportunities due to you taking on a subconscious and self excluding stereotype. It is not about who they hire, it is about who bothers to apply for jobs in the first place. For the record I am in a successful multiracial marriage and at least one of my daughters is very interested in STEM, so I can see this issue from several different angles.

Iam not even white heck Iam not even American yet and it is my dream to one day work at Lockheed helping further America’s dominance in Aerospace BUT with that said some of LMs best systems were designed and built mostly by WHITE men; see that picture of the SR-71 ? That was built mostly by white men. Sure this was during a time when travel to America from the outside was far less but to suggest that Lockheed will build better marvels than the famed Blackbird simply because you hire people who’s skin colour isn’t white is ridiculous!

All things said with the Boeing 737 MAX and whatever Airbus is putting out! I think it’s high time for Lockheed to get back in the commercial airliner business and build a real speed demon in the 250 To 300 class! Something like their original 1966 SST concept but with variable swept wings like a F-14 Tomcat So that the aircraft can fly slightly below the sound barrier orver the continental United States and once over the ocean can go Like a bat out of hell and go supersonic and blast through the 2000 mph barrier! Get the skunk Works rolling and build that Lockheed 2707 That Boeing didn’t!
