PRAYER FOR SOULS | REMEMBERING OUR LOVED ONES WITH GRATITUDE | DOM LORENZO MARIA, SSCV

We pray for our deceased loved ones, the poor souls in purgatory especially those who have dies without the Last Rites, Sacraments, proper burial and even the ones who may still have pending temporal punishments but to their sins.

This prayer is specially dedicated to all of them who have gone before us. If you cannot go to the cemetery to pray and pay respects for your family members you can still offer suffrages for them.

Holy tradition teaches us that the poor souls in purgatory can no longer earn merits for themselves because they are no longer on earth, but they are capable of presenting their own past merits on our behalf and favor. We can receive temporal and spiritual blessing from them.

The poor souls in purgatory can no longer obtain anything for themselves but their prayers for our intentions and the suffering they endure are dear to God's heart. They can be immensely useful to us where they are in the place of atonement.

And what will the souls do for us whey they have attained heaven through our help and prayers... how grateful will they be for us, their benefactors!

May we therefore have a deep love and devotion to the souls in purgatory. Let's start praying for our dearly departed loved ones daily. May our love for them ever increase as our devotion to souls continue...
