i own an old og aladdin vhs tape that has the line 'cut off your ear' , grew up watching that, and didn't know of the hot desert line until we watched it in school on dvd and i was so confused

Awesome fact: Jonathan Freeman (Jafar) actually reprised his role when Aladdin the Musical premiered on Broadway. He even appeared for the musical's 10th anniversary!

It was an amazingly incredible Arabian night watching Disney's Aladdin! It had great Disney animation, great voice acting, and memorable songs! It was a hit with everyone and nobody was this high! The 2019 live-action remake was bland, dull, and a total waste of time. Disney Channel and Disney Jr. aired it so often, but it would make more sense if it was on The Wonderful World of Disney.

Ah yes the film that caused the Theif and the Cobbler to fall apart because Disney actually could finish a scene without driving animators to the brink of legal insanity.

The AMAZING Genie animation was done by the PHENOMENAL Eric Goldberg. (He also did the animation on the Rhapsody in Blue/Hirschfeld segment of Fantasia 2000, Phil in Hercules, and the crocodile in Princess and the Frog.). He animated to the beats in the music during the musical numbers and drew some of the most insane inbetweens during the transitions of the impressions. And when Disney made the Bluray of this film, Eric did pencil tests (non-finished/non-colored animation) of some of the takes Robin Williams recorded (from his 16 HOURS of improv) for the extras.

I got to work with Eric on a Simpsons Couch Gag- best memory in my life. Eric is simply the coolest!

The thing is: There shouldnt be a liar reveal plot. Aladdin wished to be a prince, not to look like a prince, not to pretend to be a prince. Official wish on the phenominal cosmic powered genie to be a prince.

The truth should be "I found a magic lamp and wished to be a prince to see you again...what? I have a magic carpet, you find a genie so hard to believe? Hey genie, come over here, tell her how Im a real prince and now have an entire country, people, and royal family."

The marvels and quantumania weren't bombs? They were really good movies.

I absolutely love this movie!♥️ I remembered being 6 years old and watching it on repeat saved on the cable tv recordings. Aladdin is definitely one of my favorite Disney princes. Not only is he charming but he is also funny, full of wit, and does learn his lesson to just be himself and let others help him. While he also stays true to himself. Kinda like Prince Naveen from Princess and The Frog. (Sidenote: LOVE Jafar’s song reprise in the movie; one of the best underrated parts of the movie)

Jasmine is such an awful character. She lives in luxury while the kids in the street starve and all she has to do to earn in all is to marry into royalty, which isn't a bad thing, but no! She has to have it all because she's spoiled, so instead of creating national ties with another nation that would help her people, she marries a homeless guy because she only thinks about herself.

Now I can only imagine Iago make jokes about 9/11 right after the event.

the animation is so great, look at the stars in the background and the vivid colors in the movie. for 1992 this was ahead of its time.

I did not appreciate those jabs at Marvel and Lightyear.

This is why I will NEVER see those live-action cash grabs. Jafar turning into a giant parrot in the 2019 remake is just weak.
Now if he turned into a giant SCORPION, that would be different while still giving us something badass.

Such a shame the ending that was conceptualised with the peddler revealing himself to be the genie was never used

I think it's important to talk about the Genie's animation because it's a universal experience, his voice changes in other languages of course so even if the dub isn't as good, at least the animation is still wonderful (well in French the dub is a classic, on par with Williams for you)

That Gilbert Gottfried impression was on point.

Kinda surprised NC didn't bring up the "Gee, I wonder who the bad guy is..." criticism with Jafar.

What can I say about this film that hasn’t already been said? It’s my favorite Disney movie, it’s a great movie of the 90s, I love Robin Williams, I love Jasmine, I love Aladdin, I love Iago, I love Jasmine’s red outfit! There’s just so much I love about this movie. Also great job on your skits. Fantastic jokes about the company history of both Disney and Facebook!
