Mazzer Major VP Electronic Espresso Grinder | Review

I have both the Major V and the major VP. VP is a beast of a machine. Quieter, faster grinding (by 1.5 seconds on the coffee I use compared to the V) and the coffee comes out fluffier with visibly less clumping.

Got the V just before the VP was released. I changed the Mazzer OEM burrs for SSP burrs and it transformed the grinder. 18 grams in 4 seconds which is much faster than with the original burrs. But more importantly the grinds are fluffier, and the espresso's changed. Became faster flowing, so grinding more fine now. The SSP burrs bring out the nuances much better. Bigger grind adjustment range and virtually never any "sink" shots anymore. However, I feel it did come at the expense of body and texture. I believe the SSP burrs grind more uniform and due to less fines the texture and body have decreased a bit. But, from where I stand, this was a very worthwhile upgrade. Would be interesting to see how the V with SSP would stack up against the VP.

I upgraded from a df64 to the vp wished you had a more detailed video on this grinder since there is absolutely no information what so ever on this grinder so far your the only one
