I would rearange the furnishings and, put the bed where the futon is, with a shelving-unit at the foot of it, that wraps around it to separate it in its own space and partially obscure it from view, while creating more storage at the same time.

Please put your plunger in a bag & tucked away.

I live in a small space (with 3 cats) myself, a little bigger than this but broken down into tiny rooms, so it's quite a challenge. Still, I am happy here and so are the cats, and I see that you and your little cat are happy also.

Hi Jenny, your apartment is great, and despite the size, has lots of potential. I think you can make some improvements, without spending much money. The storage place behind the curtain, is it possible to put shelf from bottom to ceiling? I would swoop places bed/futon, and the clothing rail by the bed. The bookshelf, if possible, dividing the room . That way you could have a cosy sleep corner and lounge area opposite the kitchen. In the kitchen, I would swoop the tall wooden shelving for a side board or similar not higher than the window seal. The tall shelving could look nice in a corner of the lounge.....😅

I am really impressed, especially with the kitchen space. No cupboards except under the sink but you still found a space for everything you need without it looking cluttered. Very clever use of space! Your clothing rack with hanging shelving looked like a decor piece while still being completely functional. Hope you & kitty have many happy days there.
