I would use a plastic plate in stead of the paper plate.🧐

Use a plastic plate and it should last months exposed to the elements.

Yours is a better trap without a doubt. The paper plate keeps the cost down - I thought maybe using an aluminum pie plate (a bit more slick) but then the mice may be even more cautious and not go so far out, IDK.

I found a random mouse in an empty bucket this morning and reneged this video. I'm going to make this right now. But I noticed the mouse in the bucket this morning was almost able to jump out. How do you make sure they don't get out?

That's not a wire going the through your plates, it's a rod. And you keep saying the non-native mice cause damage, yet all mice cause damage and you should be killing them all because no species is truly native to an area of land, even humans. Deer mice carry the Hantavirus, kill them!

Really good modification on the trap. To me it seems that the bait over the edge of the upside down plate makes the mouse commit where the original design does not. Simple and effective. Thanks for posting.

I set up 2 buckets last night in two sheds I have. I put a few peanuts and water in the bottom so the mice would have food and water, but this morning, it looks like the mice climbed back out of the bucket. Peanut butter gone, peanuts in the bottom gone, no mice. Plenty of mouse poop.

How do I know the breed

I left a bucket with a few inches of water in it in the kitchen overnight not even thinking about it. The next AM, I'm walking thru the kitchen and noticed a dead 🐀 floating around in the H²0!?! So that gave me an idea! I put a bit of peanut butter on each side up close to where the handle connects to each side and have NOT gotten lucky yet...THE current house I'm renting is a never ending situation tho. 2 years later, 7 mice caught and they're still going strong. Am already in the process of getting a place that's not infested (at least, to my knowledge 🤞).

Poor mice.... They deserve better than to be left dead on a log waiting to be eaten at least bury them and show respect. They don't deserve to be killed just cause they are unwanted it's not like they know where they are and if they are allowed they are just trying to survive and some are getting food for the babies which will now go hungry and starve and the mother will have to eat them to get by so I hope you're happy with your little videos cause they are hurting small animals that are just trying to get by like anyone else they don't deserve to be captured tortured and killed just cause you caught them for your freaking video. Pathetic. Animals deserve rights too they don't know better so why kill the poor little critters.....
