If someone thinks that won't happen...once is enough.
See for yourself: watch?v=fi5xbBrCoNc
I've never experienced that with my HK or Glock, but thank you for the head's up! This is the first I've heard of this phenomenon.
ОтветитьIn the last 30 years, including a career in Law Enforcement, I estimate I’ve fired 75,000 factory pistol rounds. Of those, I think I’ve had 2 squibs. Fortunately it was during practice (they were both training fmj rounds) and I noticed the difference. Still, it’s good to be aware of. Thanks for the video.
ОтветитьThank you for that, I didn't know that.
Ответить🙏🏻
ОтветитьVery informative for a new range shooter like me, thank you
ОтветитьSir i want to ask supposingly if there is a big bang voice instead of a small pop and the casing didnt eject properly because it did not have the power to rack the slide back i mean an under powered round how do we smoothen the rails of the gun so that low powered rounds can be fired ?
Please do a vid on FTF and FTE issues.
Never look down the barrell
ОтветитьAre they more prevalent in reloads or manufactured loads?
ОтветитьI’ve had it happen with my s&w 15-22, luckily I realized something was wrong and didn’t try to fire another round
ОтветитьHappened to me today during training
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьThanks for the info.
ОтветитьThe reason I'm watching this video is because this happened to me yesterday at the range for my first time. Walther PDP. Already have a few hundred rounds through it but over the past year I've been buying range ammo, all new ammo but a mixed bunch from multiple reputable manufacturers. But I keep my range ammo all loose and mixed in an ammo can so theres no way of knowing where that round came from. I kept the pistol aimed down range for about 30secs after my tap rack didnt work and I noticed a jam. I then did a quick field strip and found a squid round about 1/3 of way down the barrel. Thank goodness I've watched a ton of training videos over the years to learn proper safety and procedure during a malfunction or I may not be typing so smoothly right now. I kept the bullet and will keep it as a reminder of how easy it could be to lose fingers if you dont pay attention.
ОтветитьWhat if this happens with a fully automatic weapon?😬😳
Ответитьthanks
ОтветитьSquid with a b?
ОтветитьAwesome video
ОтветитьAlmost always it’s not a squib, just turn the gun 180 and inspect the barrel. Fast and easy but be safe.
Ответитьso glad i first learned what squibs were online instead of at the range
ОтветитьYou're literally saving lives with this video. Big thank you! God bless you sir.
ОтветитьThanks. Never knew 🙄
ОтветитьWouldn't cleaning and maintaining your tools avoid a squib?
ОтветитьNever heard of a squib load before then bam got recommended about 10 videos on it today
Ответитьcan this happen in a revolver?
Ответитьmany thanks for teach me this important thing.
ОтветитьI remember my FIRST EVER shot with a handgun. It was my father's Makarov, 9mmx18. I put in the mag, load the first round, i try to shoot, nothing, only click! Waited a full minute, pulled that round out, reloaded again and fired normally. Never, ever after that I had any problems with that gun (now is registered in my name) and I fired at least 1000 rounds after that... Probably my luck...
ОтветитьI played enough stalker to know about this.
ОтветитьNever had issue with 9mm but with remington .22lr ive had 2 in 1 week. First time i never caught it had shards of the remaining bullet stuck in the barrel. Second time i caught the side and boom looked inside and saw it
ОтветитьNo. Thank you!
ОтветитьGun Smith? Those still exist? I can’t find one to save my life!
ОтветитьDid he just say look into the barrel?
ОтветитьWhat happens if you’re in a shootout and you get this so called squib
ОтветитьSo I was in boy scouts and got my rifle, pistol, and shot gun merit badges and 10 years later am soon going to be a new gun owner, however, my experience in shooting and training, I've NEVER HEARD ANY of my INSTRUCTORS, tell a trainee to LOOk DOWN THE BARELL OF A LOADED GUN THAT HAD HAD A SQUIB. please if you are reading this use you brain and don't look down the barrel.
ОтветитьA squib load almost killed my cousin. Put him in hospital bad. Had one stuck in his AK (Chinese, go figure). Blew the whole thing apart and broke his orbital bone and his nose. He was lucky a piece of the shrapnel didn't go straight through him
ОтветитьCan this happen to a revolver?
ОтветитьPlease don't ever tell anybody to look down the barrel because you know they will.
ОтветитьOne of biggest fears when I go shoot at the range.
ОтветитьThis is the first time I heard of this I’ve been shooting for 2 years
ОтветитьThank you I wasn't aware that this was a thing
ОтветитьI had no clue what it was until I seen someone get seriously injured at a range. I’m a fairly new shooter and all gun classes should teach it but don’t.
ОтветитьI saw a short video about squibs and didn’t really understand it but have experienced things with my s&w 9mm where I load a mag shoot maybe 3 or 4 rounds and go to pull the trigger and nothing happens so I rack it and a full bullet flys out and then it’s usually ready to fire after that so called “dud” idk just getting into guns so yea it happens prolly one time every mag
ОтветитьHad one tonight shooting federal champion 22lr..second to the last round I was planning to shoot tonight..pushed out easily with my bore brush but still sketchy af
ОтветитьBefore trying to tap it out let it sit in gun oil over night or for 1 hour
ОтветитьIt’s something striker fired handguns do a lot 🙃
ОтветитьOnly learning about this like 2 weeks ago...good thing to know. Ty for the knowledge brother 🙏
ОтветитьWhat if your doing a "bill drill"?
