What I will never forgive NotR:

it removed the factions strengths.

In vanilla G2, Paladins had the strongest armor. Dragonhunters had the strongest weapons.

In NotR both end armors are exactly the same and the steongest weapon is an ugly berserk axe than be simply found laying on the ground...wow...

What bugs me is that at the end of gothic 1 the hero says that when he came outside the barrier was gone and nothing was the same. And at the beginning of gothic 2 Xardas says that he was saved from underneath the rubble by his armor and teleported dirrectly to his tower. So basically in 1 the hero got outside the orc temple and saw the aftermath and in 2 he was stuck underneath the rubble and was teleported straight to Khorinis. How could they make this confusion is beyond my understanding 😅

The Night of Raven LP System is perfectly balanced and ensures that Gothic 2 is not too easy. If you change that, you become too strong again too quickly.

Quick tip for those who were interested in the LP mod, it breaks the text in the English version and there's no fix, so either learn to read German, or suffer the poor LP implementation.

The unnecessary periodical shouting in your video just drives viewers away.

I love how extremally difficult and punishing G2 is the first time you play it. Then it feels balanced the second time. And then. You get it. BOW! the BOW is fooken broken! And then the game becomes a cheese fest.

i only played the night of the raven version... and yes while those LP costs might be a nuisance you still get very strong at the end if you focus on one playstyle and know how to use it

Fun Fact: if you are in Marvin mode (cheats enabled) you can revive yourself by pressing the flying button (F8). Saves a lot of progress and nerves if you die because of glitches etc.

It's actually 30 days later when Xardas teleports you out of the sleeper temple. Yes i know, the english text says thirteen days but the translators fucked up. The german original says dreißig (thirty) days.^^

this game is brutal if you don´t know what you´re doing, but oh so rewarding when you feel becoming stronger the further the game progresses..... and even though i haven´t played the game in more than 10 years i still can remember most of the quests and describe in detail where which place is in khorinis

i find gothic2 original much more enjoyable

The controls are clunky but especially the gothic 1 controls make sense, like honestly, think about them and they will make not only sense but you will feel that they are natural and from that point on wards every other way of controlling games will break your immersion.

This game was basically The Witcher 3 of the early 2000's.

The Orc Ram Bug in combination with the Claw of Beliar is great to farm lots of XP

An 8 and a 7? This game is an 11.

This game is genius. And the sad thing is Piranha Bytes apparently has no clue how they did it.
