Man... I miss the original voice of Goku.. After he left I could definitely tell the difference. Ever since then there was something not right about Goku's voice. Japanese voice is still the best!
ОтветитьSonic x btw
ОтветитьI thought this was a livestream when I saw this was gonna be 1hr long, hell nah it's a uploaded video😂
ОтветитьThat's why I hate Funimation. They nickel and dime everything. I don't think he really "hated" the gig, the pay simply wasn't right.
ОтветитьDidn’t he also play Scales in LEGO Ninjago
Ответитьkaio ken attackkkkkkk....... times fourrrrrrrrrrr rruuuahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьAwesome video, the first Goku man i watched it so many times.... Good old days of Dragonball 😊
Ответитьdamn unrated video hope it gets more views :)
ОтветитьWhen you're listening to the "Pee pee" story and realize its Dragon Ball and the girl is Bulma lol
ОтветитьWasn't this guy gonna play Sly Cooper?? Wtf happened there?
ОтветитьSo in conclusion if you are sent back in time to the 80s and need a source of income don’t become an anime voice actor
ОтветитьY’all think gohan quit training was because he was so traumatized from killing cell and getting his dad killed so he kept to his studies so he’d never have to kill again
ОтветитьIan's Goku sounds more like an adult instead of the goofy fun loving with Sean. I'm a little torn but I think I enjoy Ian's Goku just a tad bit more.
ОтветитьGreat interview
ОтветитьReboot was the best.
ОтветитьAhh the memories this is the Goku I remember
ОтветитьThat was very Unique and Amazing.
ОтветитьI met Ian at TFCon 2016, he was awesome there and he was great in this interview.
ОтветитьReally cool interview dude, I grew up in the 90s in the UK with the ocean dub. Thanks
ОтветитьReboot was dope.
ОтветитьCorlett had the perfect voice for english Goku, but the Ocean scripts were horrible.
ОтветитьGreat voice acting! He was also Bill from Sitting Ducks, another great show!
ОтветитьGEEKDOM SORRY FOR CAPS I HAVE A SERIOUS QUESTION
WHAT HAPPENS IF CAPTAIN GINYU BODY SWAPS A FUSED CHARACTER
NANI ???? an the fusion time ends an they unfuse
It's nice to hear his voice! He hasn't changed much, but he also has taken care of his voice, by not doing Dragon Ball dubs. I loved his performance, and he was my first exposure
ОтветитьToy Story 5 Jeff the doll
ОтветитьYes bring him back as goku asap
ОтветитьHe sounds like Goku fused with Chris Hansen
ОтветитьCorlett was the best goku
ОтветитьAll this time I've been wondering why he was replaced by Kelamis. Now we have our answer :-)
ОтветитьSpeaking about using the Japanese original to get a sense of timing, I do feel that his "That's not fair!" is pretty close in spoken rhythm to Nozawa's "Nandatou?!"
ОтветитьWell, I guess Ian James Corlett didn't have a very great experience on the voice and Goku, he will always be the Goku I know, she is one of my personal favourite Goku voice actors out of all the rest.
ОтветитьIan James Corlett would get along really well Gregg Turkington, as big Bondheads.
ОтветитьMay I ask you if you pay them to interview them
ОтветитьGreat interview, Geekdom!!!!!
ОтветитьGeekdom can you get dale kelly or Barry Watson into a interview sometime if it’s possible
ОтветитьIt's so nostalgic hearing his voice. He is Goku to me. I love Sean as well, but Ian is the OG Goku that I heard when I started falling in love with Dragon ball Z <3
ОтветитьAll my Funshine Bear fans where you at!?
ОтветитьSo much better than Sean
ОтветитьSean is great and I consider him English Goku, but Ian has that hero voice that I recognized from other cartoons. Love it!
So about the animation portion. As someone who preferred Anime over western animation since he was 3, I couldn't disagree more with his views on how anime stacks up. The detail and movement on something like Macross was light years beyond anything else in the west of that era. But it's definitely an attitude I encountered among older fans of animation especially 15-20 years ago.
In regards to why he prefers to work on western productions and the constraits, that's totally understandable.
corlett probably had the most suited voice for goku.
ОтветитьIan should check out Kara no Kyoukai and Samurai X OVA trust and betrayal talk about beautiful and fluent animation without the use of digital enhancements. Both anime were ahead of their time.
ОтветитьThe best goku voice still
ОтветитьIan and Peter had that higher energy range that overlapped into the Japanese performance. That would really be the best way to bring it to the West....a little bit of West, but the capability of the East for all the major moments.
ОтветитьBest English Goku
ОтветитьThis is the real GOKU. Not that garbage Schemmel.
ОтветитьI’m glad he has the perspective that he's just another cog alongside the many other actors who voiced Goku. Wish he hadn’t been underpaid and treated better by those producers.
ОтветитьSeans a twat. Always has been, one trick pony voice actor.
ОтветитьI always kinda thought the ocean va,s had more pleasant sounding voices allround, even though later on funimation definitely stepped up. But just on its own ocean va sound better on their voice alone. Especially chichi.
ОтветитьIan James Corlett and Peter Kelamis are the best Goku's for the English Dub by far 💯💯. As a whole Ocean dub voices just sounded more natural and grounded.
ОтветитьI don't remember him in Captain N...what character did he voice...I thought the voice of Ed from Ed, Edd, and Eddy was Kelvin..
