ОтветитьA good rule for long runs and gels is to take one every 45 minutes! I do that when I run for anything longer than an hour and it really helps. Also I’d definitely get a belt that holds water bottles and take a couple ounces every 30 mins, especially with the gels. Really enjoyed watching these videos and looking forward to seeing the rest of your training!

ОтветитьYour heart rate was high probably because you were dehydrated. Easiest way to bonk in a marathon: not drinking enough early in the race. Speaking from (recent) experience. Humans can go weeks without food but only a few days without water!

ОтветитьNice work! Came for the long run, stayed for the nose blowing 😂 I think you're supposed to have gels or carb drink around every 30 minutes. Nutrition can be one of the hardest things to pin down, so good luck with that part of your training!

ОтветитьFor long runs, you should consider putting your phone on airplane mode. Those notifications can really take you out of the "zone".

ОтветитьGood run Emma, can’t believe you didn’t take water with you, you should definitely have some water at the half way point, so you don’t dehydrate also the water helps u drink the jel, don’t forget to have a green smoothie drink straight after your long run to replace the nutrients & electrolytes, an excellent smoothie i have is, I’ve been doing some 3 hour runs, smoothie helps for sure, coconut water, with banana, some dates, tsp spirulina , linseed, some green leafy veg like kale, hand full of nuts & raisins, some other fruit in season like, blueberries or mango are top, good luck with the long runs :-)

ОтветитьBlimey. What a big Millennial fuss about nothing! I started running 8 months ago and regularly run for over 2 hours without thinking about it - on roads and cross-country trails (harder). Slice of toast with peanut butter and off I go. No foam rolling or foot massage, no gels or liquids. Just Do It.

ОтветитьPut watee in your trunk if you dont want to carry any that way you can run out for part of the run then back to your car for water. I usually run an hour before consuming water or gels
